![]() MONS73R of 9th seeded The Truth gave us his predictions for the Top 8 GoW 2 finishers at Columbus. Check 'em out below.
MONS73R (second from right) placed third at Vegas in 2008.
Columbus is the next stepping stone in the Gears of War 2 history. The starting weapon has changed, a new map has been added, two maps have been take away, and almost every map has had its settings and weapon swaps changed. It’s a new game compared to GoW2 at Meadowlands. With the Lancer as the starting weapon watch out for that fast-paced and high action game play that we were used to last year. 1. The NSAN3Z: Arguably the best team in the game; with the retirement of Warrior, the NSAN3Z picked up an amazing player in HighDistortion. This team is all about strats and team fire. Not only are the NSAN3Z known for making different strats than everyone else, but they are known for making those strats work. Watch for the NSAN3Z to go huge in Columbus and take home first place. 2. Murder By Numbers: MbN had a roster change not too long ago, losing HighDistortion to the NSAN3Z. Although they lost a powerhouse, they gained another one in PRiSON. They are both great hosts and I feel they both bring great skill to each team. Prison has a lot to prove at this event, as he has not played GoW2 at an event yet. The teamwork with this team is unmatched. Jae, Shane, and Zkiller are all ridiculous players. Watch out, because if any of them catch fire they could bring home the crown in Columbus. 3. ReTaLiaTiOn: Looking at their roster on paper is scary enough, let alone having to play against them. With the comeback of Puff and the addition of a Rising Star candidate in tSinc, I see this team getting no less than Top 4. Just like in GoW1, Puff is a pretty good host, although like Prison, he did not play at Meadowlands. We will see how he does on LAN with GoW2. Rain and Bullet are not players to look past either. Both are great players on LAN, play very very smart, and both can catch fire. Look for them to do big things in Columbus. 4. InFiNiTy: Dun Dun DUNN!! Yes folks that’s right Infinity is back. After an incident which caused Infinity to not play at Meadowlands, they are hungry for competition. Although I only have them at 4th, they have the 16th seed. With host over no one, they will have to take maps off of the best teams in the game to win matches. Every player on this team can single-handedly win a match. I expect Atmo to rip through this whole event, proving that he is still the top player in the game. Supporting him all the way will be his long time duo partner, Genetix. With God603 and Requiem to top it off, you have got an amazing team. They will make some noise in the first round as they play the number one seed, Legacy. 5. zYn: I see them placing the same as they did at Meadowlands. This team have very unique strategies and very good teamwork but I feel there lack of a dominant host keeps them out of the top4. I don’t think this team gained or lost anything by the use of Lancers as the starting weapon. I haven’t scrimmed this team so I cannot say much more about this team. 6. vVv Destiny: This team will go either go big or they will not. They will not fall out of top8 but they have a strong chance at top4 if they play to their potential. Emnity is a very good host. Mephisto and Nitevizion how very good power weapon play and great shotgun play. With the leadership of Fallout showing them they way, they have great potential to take down some top teams. 7. MoB Deep: The only reason have them placed this low is because of their bracket and they have host over no one in the top8. Every person on this team is very highly skilled and probably one of the coolest teams to hang out with. There first round match-up against vVv Destiny will be the best first round match-up to watch as Fallout goes against former teammate Franchise. All of these players are very good on LAN and I expect them to crack top8 even without a top8 seed. 8. Simply UnderRated: I haven't scrimmed this team yet and I didn’t know who to put here (partly because I don’t predict my own teams placement). I also put this team here because of their lack of practice. SuR got an awesome addition with my former teammate Void. Leon has amazing power weapon play. Watch out for Monk and Storm to slay and support their way to Top 8. Notable teams that could upset: iLL By Nature, Revelation, and Strength In Numbers. All of these teams have players that are up and coming and could make big names for themselves. |
