MLG: It's not unfair to say that you've had a bit of a rocky season up to this point. Is Anaheim the event that you turn it around? Ant: Yeah, I decided to quit after Meadowlands. No one expected it, but I'm back to show everyone the Ant from Meadowlands '08 is back for Anaheim. MLG: What have you been up to in the meantime? Ant: I went to Columbus with a last minute sponsored team with no practice and unfortunately didn't make it out of the Open Bracket. I've also moved in the past month and have been trying to get a job, but that's not working out. I played Halo on and off and I got into Red Faction: Guerilla for a little bit; Now I'm back, and I mean business. MLG: Heading into Anaheim you're teaming up with Under The Influence, who came out of the Open Bracket and placed 7th in Dallas. How did you end up joining the squad? Ant: It was about a day before the deadline and I had noticed that they were trying people out on XBL, so I messaged them to give me a tryout. The next day we played and haven't looked back since. MLG: What are your early thoughts on the team? Ant: I love it. I couldn't ask for anything better. We have the potential to be a powerhouse. MLG: You guys are taking on Carbon in the first round at Anaheim, and you'll be playing as quite the underdog. What does UTI need to do to take down Carbon and do you think you'll be able to get it done? Ant: I love being the underdog; we have nothing to lose. We need to stay focused and be on our 'A' game. Carbon is a really good team, but I think anything is possible, only if you're a believer. I'm not going to be surprised if we win or lose. MLG: What would make Anaheim a successful event for you, personally? Interview continues on page 2> |
