Michael Sepso, co-founder and Chairman
Mike co-founded MLG with Sundance DiGiovanni in 2002 with a vision to create a new sport around competitive video gaming. As chairman of Major League Gaming, Mike’s focus is on strategic media deals and cementing MLG’s position as the largest only professional video game league in the world. Prior to co-founding MLG, Mike was co-founder and co-CEO of Gotham Broadband, an early innovator in the broadband content and delivery industry. He managed the broadband strategy for several key clients and media partners including Sprint, Hughes Electronics, DirecTV, Cablevision, and AOL Time Warner in the U.S., and British Telecom, UPC Chello, and KNRW (Deutsche Telekom) in Europe. Before Gotham Broadband, he was a media and entertainment consultant for companies like Pearson Television, Miramax Films, and Apple Computer. Mike has a B.S. in management from Babson College.
Sundance DiGiovanni, co-founder and chief brand officer
Sundance co-founded MLG with Mike Sepso in 2002 so he could combine his lifelong passion for gaming and his deeply competitive nature. As chief marketing officer of Major League Gaming, Sundance focuses on the long-term roadmap of competitive video game play and the various distribution channels that are bringing this burgeoning sport to the masses. He is the lead commentator and gaming expert on MLG’s ground-breaking competition programming—ESPN Saturday Night and MLG Championship Sunday. Through his early work as an on-air videogame lifestyle commentator, he has become one of the world’s leading experts on gaming culture. Prior to co-founding MLG, Sundance was worldwide creative director at Gotham Broadband, a broadband media pioneer. He is a veteran creative executive with experience in a variety of media working with such brands as AOL Time Warner, DirecTV, Sony, Pfizer, Nortel Networks, and Sprint. He also loves the color purple.
Matthew Bromberg, president and chief executive officer
As CEO, Matthew leads the management and expansion of MLG’s rapidly growing sports media business. Prior to joining the company, he spent six years at Time Warner, first as general manager of MovieFone and then as the general manager of AOL Games. Under his leadership, the MovieFone business became the number one movie site in the world, according to MediaMetrix. During his time at AOL, Games was the most popular service after e-mail and instant messaging. Previously, Matthew was at CMP Media, most recently as Publisher and General Manager of the TechWeb Network. During his tenure, CMP Media IPO’d and was subsequently sold for $920MM to United News and Media. He also worked for Steven Brill as Deputy Publisher at American Lawyer Media/Court TV. He has a B.A. in English from Cornell University and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
Jarratt Brown, chief financial officer
As CFO, Jarratt is responsible for financial analysis, M&A and growth strategy, overall financial and corporate level budgeting, as well as administrative responsibility, including HR, purchasing and customer service. Jarratt is an accomplished senior financial executive with a career spanning the media, technology, and apparel industries. Prior to joining MLG, he was a part of the executive team executing the turnaround and acquisition of an international financial services and information firm by one of the largest media companies in the world. He has also completed assignments as chief of operations for an import/export manufacturer and merchandiser and VP Finance for two technology companies. Jarratt earned his M.B.A. from Vanderbilt University with honors and holds a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania.
Catherine Corry, executive vice president, programming and production
As EVP of programming and production, Catherine is focused on building MLG’s content properties, including the MLG Pro Circuit, MLG’s website (www.mlgpro.com), live event production and also syndicated and sponsor-distributed content. Before joining MLG, she held executive director roles at AOL in Programming Ventures and AOL Television, where she was responsible for the development of strategies and partnerships to build AOL’s on-demand video content businesses in the TV, Video Games, Animation, and Young Women’s categories. Prior to AOL, Catherine worked at Cablevision Systems Corp., where she developed interactive channels and partnerships for Cablevision’s iO digital cable platform, including the Emmy award-winning iO “Dashboard.” Prior to Cablevision, she was a media and entertainment strategy consultant at PwC (now IBM Consulting), and an account executive at Ogilvy & Mather and Saatchi & Saatchi. She has served on the National Board of Directors of the Association of Women in Radio and Television (AWRT). Catherine is a graduate of Yale College and Harvard Business School.
Mimi Kim, executive vice president, business affairs and development
As EVP of business affairs and development, Mimi is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and closing MLG’s strategic deals; MLG’s merchandising and licensing strategy and execution; and the general business affairs of the company. Prior to joining MLG, Mimi spent 4 years at AOL as Executive Director of Programming Business Development, where she headed AOL’s Entertainment Business Development group and was responsible for all of AOL’s Music, Radio, Television and Movies content and programming deals. She played a key role in launching the award winning AOL Music Video on Demand channel on Time Warner Cable and was instrumental in bringing the “Live 8” concerts to AOL. Prior to AOL, Mimi spent 6 years at BMG (now SONY BMG Music Entertainment), as Senior Director of Legal & Business Affairs, where she focused on new media deals, video game development and publishing agreements, corporate transactions, and strategic marketing agreements. She also provided strategic guidance and counsel to BMG’s labels and foreign affiliates regarding BMG’s pioneering online activities related to the digital distribution of music and represented BMG on the Board of Directors of SoundExchange and various RIAA committees. Mimi holds a B.A. in English from Wellesley College and a J.D. from Fordham Law School.
Amy Janzen, senior vice president, marketing communications
Amy directs all corporate and consumer marketing communications activities, including corporate awareness, sponsor PR, and partner communications. Prior to joining MLG, Amy was a principal with The SutherlandGold Group, a PR firm focused on digital media, consumer technology, and advertising technology. As a member of the management team, she led the firm’s NYC office and spearheaded the agency’s efforts in the videogame and advertising sectors. Previously, she was a vice president at Blanc & Otus, an SF-based PR firm focused on technology start-ups in the business-to-business, VC, and business-to-consumer markets. She was also a founding member of B&O's Mountain View, California office, which she helped grow from 13 to 35 people in its first year. Amy holds a B.A. in French from the University of Pennsylvania.
Lee Chen, senior vice president, technology
Lee manages product development for all of MLG’s online properties, innovating around integration between social media and online competitive gaming. He also directs the company’s digital media technology platforms which include delivery of MLG’s live streams as well as the robust and rapidly growing online content and communities. Lee joined MLG through the company’s acquisition of GotFrag, for which Lee continues to serve as president. In that role, he advises on strategic issues around MLG’s PC Circuit and PC-centric strategies at Major League Gaming. Prior to his tenure with MLG, Lee founded and held positions at several innovative technology companies including: Critical Dynamics, Teligent, and Associated Communications.
