View Full Version : Crackdown is out, anyone good getting it?
I bought crackdown this morning, I was playing matchmaking and heard some people talking about it so I had to get it, I'd regret not getting in on the H3 beta if I didn't.
The game is OK, I liked the demo and it's not much different except it takes longer to upgrade your skills, way longer actually. Anyway I don't really care about crackdown I just wanted the beta and I encourage people from the MLG community, people that care about having a good game for competition to get the game. If you think having lots of super easy super powerful guns, if you love melees I encourage you to stay away from the beta.
Anyway I guess just post here if you got crackdown, lemme know what you think and vent your excitement of the H3 beta here.

If you're that easy to influence I wonder how you get through with watching TV without buying everything you see on commercials.

The game sucked. Straight up, it was made for the release of the halo 3 beta so we can pay for halo 3 twice, so there was not alot of thought put into the game.

About anyone good getting it I read in another thread that Ogre 2 had Crackdown preordered.

I had already decided to buy it I just forgot it came out until I heard someone mention it, I'm not that easily influenced. I actually guarantee I'm less of a "consumer" in the eyes of corporations than 90% of America.

Got the game, but this game has some connection problems, it seems to time you out if you play for too long.
Fun game though.

Ahh, don't think you can do that. :[
You will need the disc to actually launch the demo after you download it.

read bungies latest newstory they are still debating when to release the beta.

Aparently the invites last up until april the gamestop guy said.
I can't connect with anyone to do multiplayer, extremely frustrating.

i turned it on and i just started playing and.....
the 3 red flashing lights of doom came on. So now they told me i just missed the 90 day extended warranty from when I FIRST sent my 360 in. And now i have to pay 140$.

I love crackdown... it's as addicting as... well... crack... what can be more relaxing than coming home after a stressful day of classes and jumping 30 feet in the air in pursuit of agility orbs AND being able to dispatch violent gang members as you fly through the air as though you haven't a care in the world? Some would say, "Intensely practicing for the next halo 2 tournament 24/7 like we have for the past 2 and 1/2 years... that's what!" but that just doesn't do it for me...
My $60 was well-spent; most of the people who say that they hate it, like I implied, probably played for 5 minutes expecting to hate it and probably only play halo 2 all day anyhow, so their opinion doesn't count if you're considering getting it not only for the H3 Beta

The game is fun once you have your stats up. Playing with a friend makes a lot more enjoyable.

True, I played for a while with a friend and it's so much fun. I had just started earlier and beat a couple gang bosses, joined his game where nothing was done yet. We killed a couple bosses (so much fun ganging up) one of those guy I naded like 3 times, he's on fire shooting me, my friend jumps up behind him, kicks him off the top of the building, the boss falls all the way down and dies. After that we drove out to the industrial area to kill russians (tough as hell because our skills aren't high). I was so confused when there was all these explosions going off around me but the russians have rockets and nade launchers and everything, crazy fun playing them.
Fun game by yourself, awesome fun with a friend. I'm seriously looking forward to tomorrow just to play again haha.

I picked up the game in Bangor Maine yesterday morning but I didn't have my Xbox 360. My train back to Providence RI left Bangor at 10:00 AM and we won't get back into Providence until 3:30 PM.
They had a kiosk set up in the EB games I went into and I played it briefly and it's still as fun as the demo. Can't wait to play it later on today on my 32 inch HD LCD TV I bought with my income tax refund!

the game is alot of fun if you dont rush to beat all of the bosses, if you take your time, have fun destroying your opposition, and exploring the rooftops, this game can have a lot of depth. Not to mention Co-op is fun and hilarious. Misthrowing a grenade and watching your friend fly up or off of a building is quite funny.

I got it yesterday and stayed up until 5 in the morning just playing. I work at 8:30 so that should tell you somn. It's a great game if people are willing to give it a chance and play with it for longer than 20 minutes. I'm addicted to gaining agility!!! Really guys, the H3 beta is the icing on what is already a great cake.

I fricken love the guns in it. I haven't played co-op but im really looking forward to it. I love getting my strength up because you guys gets so jacked its insane! Its a really fun game and I love it!

Co-op makes this game fun. i was playing with a friend who goes to my school and i was helping him find agility orbs and i found one next to a red barrel and since my agility was higher he was trailing behind and didn't see me plant a limpet charge on the barrel and i blew it up sending him falling to the ground. Its a good game but since it came with the h3 beta people are going to go into the game expecting it to suck because they think it needs an added incentive to sell. So all im saying is give it a chance it is very over the top and very fun

anyone 4 stars in driving yet?
You can drive up walls with the agency SUV, just ram into a wall and hold B and your vehicle will suction onto the wall for a bit. Supposedly theres a way to tap B at certain intervals so you can stay on the wall longer but im not sure how yet.:-?
