I know a lot of you are mostly concerned with map balance and etc, but as a gamer that enjoys all next gen games, this is just awesome to look at.

It looks more like ascention then Lockout. Which is okay to me because I loved that map.

Looks interesting so far. Visually, I think it's nice. I'm not quite sure how it will play though. I hope that it's better than it's Halo 2 counterpart.

From my perspective it looks like the team the spawns on top will be able to hold it way to well.. doesnt look like that map would be MLG

Smae here. Even if your not interested in competition, non-competitive maps tend to get old QUICK.

With Forge, spawn points won't be a problem. Or at least they shouldn't be.

Finally someone understands that it isnt a remake of Lockout. Its not supposed to be the same. That would be stupid. Halo 3 is a new game, and should have new maps. The term is Spiritual which means it will have the same sort of feel and playstyle to it that Lockout did.

In h1 each place you stand has very specific points around it in which a spawn can occur...

H2 has some wierd thing where the game REALLY REALLY doesn't want bad guys to see you when you spawn (cuz omg that's cheap!!!1) so you end up spawning in places nobody is looking. At least that's what it seems like.

Take an average game of H1 and count how many times you SEE an enemy spawn, and compare that to h2.

I'll admit I know next to nothing about h2's spawning system though... I'm just going off of what I see.

Its easy to spawn trap the other team in h2. It almost always the free spawn point where your teammates arent and there are places where ppl spawn more than others. The only gametype where its somewhat hard to controk spawns are ball.

Okay, I see what your saying. In my original post I was trying to say how a team spawning on top won't be a problem because you can fix it so that both teams spawn at fair positions.

Agreed.. I don't know how the whole game is gonna turn out as far as balance and such, but it does look nice!
