View Full Version : Will MLG actually change the maps that much?

I was just reading some people's forge ideas and I thought "if we change these maps this much they'll become too unique". By this I mean that they'll have so many details changed that it'll be difficult to switch from matchmaking to MLG to CAL to WCG settings, you know?

I'll just play customs w/ just MLG settings like always, then play matchmaking for fun.

I won't care as long as I enjoy both. So what if I go for a rocket that isn't there on accident. Also, there will most likely be an MLG playlist out there pretty soon. No worries.

MLG will make maps, someone will most likely put them up on the DL list. You DL the MLG settings, you're set to go. What's to worry about?

I'm sure weapon spawns and player spawns will be tweeked eventually and fairly regularly, some maps more so that others obviously.

I wouldn't think there would be a "problem" with remember the default spawn points for everything with the amount of time everyone is going to be putting into the game.

We won't know how much tweaking to expect until we, you know...see the maps.

true but i do think that there will be some level of tweaking... I doubt that any of the maps will be perfect for competitive play

How is it possible to be 100% sure that you're getting the correct map unless its from a pro/semipro/MLG official person? That's what I'm worried about, getting a fake map/gametype.

Of course they will. A lot of Halo 2 maps, like Ascension and Foundation off the top of my head, had horrible weapon spawns that ruined the maps. A few other maps like Lockout could have used some tweaking as well (the blue room needed a power weapon).

People need to stop asking these kinds of questions honestly.

Will MLG allow elites?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

honestly i dont think adding a weapon here, or a weapon there is going to make a map playable for mlg or not. the spawn thiing is cool, but some of these maps are just beyond forging it. from what ive seen.

To get the official variant just go into bungie.net, search for MLG's account and flag the variant you want to download. Next time you log in to XBL it will auto-download to your box. Whats the problem?

how? We haven't even played the maps yet. Some of them are obviously for BTB but there are a good 4-5 maps that look good for 4v4 team play. Forge is awesome too, it's going to change the maps drastically because typically Bungie puts things a specific way for mass appeal, not for comeptitive play. Forge will change that.
