Hey guys, this is Chill Out. This is not the Chill Out you have seen. This map has been crafted for days. I could not even begin to explain the construction issues I had to deal with. There is a bit more information on my B.net post.
Every single item has been placed in the correct position with few exeptions (gameplay/map possibility issues). The Sniper rifle is leaning against the cover (2 window panels) which acts as the inviso room ramp cover you would find in the original map. Also, the rockets have been propped agains the wall close to their original spawn to allow grenading the rockets down to yourself. I included a bit of cover at the doorway from Rocket room to Shotgun room and I also have some nifty windows looking from top Pink hall to bottom Pink room.
Just about every wall was changed a few times until I had a clean, uniform look to the map.
Also, in trying to stay true to the original, I made Camo and Rocket 120 sec spawn & OS 60 sec spawn. Unfortunately we cannot change the overall weapon timing spawn system, yet. The Shotgun and Sniper are on 45 sec spawn with 3 on map max, respectively.
Please give this map a shot. All starting spawns, with the exeption of CTF, begin in the Main room and the bottom of Rocket room.
I wish I could do a map video for you but I simply don't know how with the resources I have available. I only know Halo =)

EDIT: Nevermind my suggestion but your map dominates all the other chillouts in 90 percent of the areas....only weakness is the camo room. fix that and its game over, no questioning it that you have the best chilly.

If you have any window frames left, you should put one up to mimic the railing in rocket room.

Nice, but still not better than iTs Nexus's Chill Out. It looks more like the Halo 1 Chill Out, but is not that fun and the camo room isn't that great

Card its WAY too easy to get out of the map, and to get ontop of walls. You need to fix that. Amazing BTW.

yeah, that's the only probelm I could really find cardo, other than the snipe room being all the same floor, but thats liveable, being able to single jump out of the map isn't.

Hey guys, I've been at work all night.
I'll try to respond to certain concerns later today, but in the mean time...
This is Version ONE of this map.
I am open to suggestions regarding anything in this map. Please be specific. If the spawns are 'terrible', please tell me what should be changed or forge the spawns yourself for the community. I placed most spawns in the two main rooms b/c I wanted an immediate firefight to take place and (semi) equal spawns relative to the goodies on the map.
I have been thinking about inviso room for a long time, I know it is a weak point in the map but please consider the resources that are available. Compromises are EVERYWHERE.
This map is meant to be played with people who know that they should not exploit the ability to get out of the map. This is not a matchmaking map where people jump off the ledge over and over until time expires. Just make sure that everyone in your custom game knows not to exploit...shouldn't be too hard. (I am always trying to seal it off, though)
I have also thought about forging an H3 version with the new stuff as well, please give me time.

Cardo, I just spent about 3 hours scrimming with friends on your map. We did some ffa, and TS. It was a blast, and really the only issue was the spawns. I am unsure as to how the spawn system works, but spawing inside fire was extremely common...especially in snipe room for some reason. I'll try to tweak around without it tommorow, and diagnose the problem. Maybe you could mimic the Halo CE Chillout Spawns? I dunno. Overall, this map brings back some great memories. Probably the best 3 hours I've spent playing halo 3. You win.
EDIT: I am just remembering. In the shotgun room, on the platform above the overshield, it would be much nicer if it was an easier transition into the tunnel. You have to kind jump over a small ledge. Minor, but i was just noticing it.
Another thing is the warps. In CE weren't you able to go through backwards and end up backwards on the other side? Well you can't. Again, minor.
You could easily eliminate any possibility of gettting out of the map(If you have $.)

Oh I know it's not his fault, it just kinda puts a damper on the map. If there was a way the warper could be up against the wall in red room it would be fine(so nobody camps behind). Im not sure what the solution would be for the needler spawn though..

I'll help you tomorrow with spawns and trying to close up the ways out of the map.
and ron paul is already a congressmen has been for 28 years, I think you mean for president ;-)

Clutch, you're right, I will move the warp as close to the wall as possible in pink room. I have noticed something that can counter the inability to enter that particular warp backwards. If you jump from needles onto the TOP of the pink warp sender, you will be THROWN into the pink room at a faster speed. (Tele-running)
I haven't played 4v4 Chill Out on Halo CE in a LONG time, so remembering the spawns under fire isn't too easy. As I recall, spawning in front of fighting people was pretty common, the map is the size of a shoe box =) I did start Halo PC up a few times to check out some specifics about the map, including spawns.
There is a slim chance I will be online tonight Noob (sober at least) but I will be trying to fix spawns, pink room, pink room teleport, and shotgun room 'spiral' staircase in the next few days.
BTW...to whomever posted the other good Chill Out's pink room...I am OVER my spending budget and I have an annoying ceiling above, but I am going to try.

Are you saying this because it's true, or because your buddy made the other one? I for one am willing to give up a simple ramp in pink room for a true rocket room and thinner walls between the two main rooms.

He's not my buddy, I'm just sharing what I witnessed with everyone. His Chill Out is like my favorite map now. That's all. This competition doesn't seem fair. It seems more like a personality/who knows the most people competition to me.
Which type of classic map do you think is better. A replica with clusters of Foundry's objects that imitate the original, or a remake that makes sense with the given objects? I personally think a remake is more fun than a replica.

Yoda, it was me who said the other Chill Out creator might be your buddy. I am NOT talking trash at all, I was/am just curious.
As for the guy who says this is a popularity contest, I don't see it that way. I made this map for people who love H1 as I'm sure the other recreators of the map did. I don't know anyone on these forums, either, with the exeption of Noob.
I just hope the competition brings out great maps that everyone can have fun on. Whoever happens to win doesn't matter to me.

Just a hint for everyone remaking a map....or have a map with OS...make it a custom power up...that way you can edit the custom power up in the gametype to 5 seconds, invunerable, 3x shield. Other than that you did a great job remaking the map...I just dont know the glitch to go over on money b/c I tried to change you OS to custom.
Im looking foward to ur v2 and nex v2. I think yall should try n combine eachother's ideas, but thats just me cuz you2 have the best chill outs right now.

Yeah I think the comp for best chillout will be just between cardo and tigear, and after the foundry contest is done, they both should collorbrate to make a *****in chillout.

Clutch, that sounds like a good idea...and I'm not bickering, I've been working and having friends over so it's hard to find time to forge right now. I've been talkin in the forums to get ideas....anyway, the maps are so different physically that it really doesn't really warrant a colaboration. Not that I don't like the other guy or his map, it's just that our maps are different phisically... I know it will be very difficult to correct something on my map without affecting something else and I'm sure he will have the same problems.
Wow, sick job. I didn't notice this contest before and was thinking about a chill out remake, but this will be hard to top. It could be better but it's def a step in the right direction.

I am not sure if this has been mentioned, but the lil towers next to the main room's port should be made outta something different. In H1 they were built perfectly for shooting though... these one's gap is too high to be useful.
A lot of good ideas... I still think the best chill out is still yet to come.

Humor me as to what you think should be there instead of dumpsters and weapon holders. I thought about those structures for a loooong time and I think that is the best possible setup. Yes. the gap is to high to shoot level bullets, BUT it has a clear shot of the rocket walk-way just above the usual line of sight. This is better than nothing, in my opinion.

Good question. It is there in case someone is 'knocked' down there by a nade or rocket. It has only happened once as far as I've know when I played it. The exit is hidden on the map and throws you back in to the play area.
If I had more money, I woulda put one on the other side (near needlers) also, but it is not needed because there is not real chance you could be naded out on that side. Thanks fo askin

Hey guys, I've been busy all weekend. I will have a new, 2nd version available shortly with 'fixed' (not entirely possible with H3) spawns. Also, I'm going to enable all gametype spawns with the exception of infection, durr.
Most likely, there will be a 3rd and final version released before the end of the competition with a compromised pink room ramp (if it is not released along with V2)

I just didnt have time to finish it before the contest was over... so my V1 is my official entry =( ...I'll let you know when V2 is finished though. It's looking good.
