Babel- Original map By Kon Artist (maker of Nightshift & Exile)

Description- A tower built to reach heaven

Specs- 23.5 x 19.5 x 5.0 units

Game Type- MLG v2

Game Variants- FFA, TS, CTF, KOTH, BALL

Weapons-
Sniper Rifles-2 (re-spawn 2 min- map limit 2)
BR- 4 ( re-spawn 30 sec)
Carbines- 4 (re-spawn 30 sec)
Mauler- 2 (re-spawn 2 min- map limit 2—note: FFA 1 located in center)
Frags- 6 (re-spawn 1 min)
Stickys- 6 (re-spawn 1 min)

Power-ups-
Custom OS- (re-spawn 2 min- map limit 1)

Map layout-
Tower- located in center 4 lvl- OS spawns -- level 4 (except in FFA—no OS, and Mauler spawns bottom center.)
Red Base- 2 lvl
Blue Base- 2 lvl
Red Carb- 1 lvl with cover
Blue Carb- 1 lvl with cover

Design-
Symmetrical base map
Marked visually- Red/ Blue Base have power ups as indicators above them out of play.
Jump tactics ( climb Babel and feel like a ninja, yes you can get to top ring)

This is my final map of three, Nightshift, Exile and Babel—each will give you a different exp. I hope you all enjoy Babel-- b/c I am confidante you will not find a map that looks like this and plays this well. This map is design for MLG v2 and competitive players. Enjoy- comments and feedback welcome.

WOW. So KOTH, BALL please:)

things I like.
1. this map looks awesome.
2. map design
3. everything is put together very well

things I don't like.
1. top tower might be to powerful. . .just a thought.

now give me the KOTH biuld.

I have only ran few test on babel so far-- Babel is made for team game types. I have tried FFA on it, and well I can't say it's all that great for that, or any map is good for FFA yet, bc of the spawning system. If anyone is intresting in runing some, TS, KOTH, CTF or BALL on Babel-- send me a FR. XLB/GT k0n art15t

RE: babel being competitive-
A: MLG v2 start... now if you feel that the map layout/ design dosn't lead to competitive team play please explain your exp. so that I can update babel to play better.

you have to put the shield doors in a corner or even a 45 degree angle thats how i do it.. but i havent had any reason to put them in a map i entered but thats a badass map i like how her used the shield doors to hold the power ups, cool center tower too

Ok- I know that babel looks cool- um ...now I am trying to make improvment on how it plays. So if anyone has run 4s on it-- let me know what you think and how the map is. Thanks again.

I ran through this map with Kon yesterday and also played some of his maps. His maps are very high quality - put together really neatly and have very clean designs with balanced positions and cover and good angles. I can see his maps working for MLG style games.

Okay heres what I dont like..

- Im not a fan of the powerups that are supposed to show the side...they just look wierd to me up there.
- I dont like the placement of the custom power up. It seems like its put on like R3 of sanctuary. A placewhere its good to get for height, but not really a playable part of the map.
- I dont know why people want to put spawns on stairs. It makes you look at an angle when you spawn and its just wierd.
- I dont like the elevated hallways on the sides. I like what you tried to do but im just not sure its going to work.

Overall its a good map. Good placement of weapons, spawning looks good for the most part, enclosed nicely with no ways out, visually appealing, detail on everything.

Even the things I dislike I can appreciate what you were trying to do. You have a great design, a great idea, and presented even better.

Very good map.

i can't wait to try this map but the problem is that my friends don't have the map pack so if some of you could add Gt-MadDog2004 to test and to play customs with that would be good by the way your map looks awesome

thanks- cadillac again is someone that gives helpful feedback... I'm just glad that you hit all the target areas of the map that I have been working on. Bc-- I have questioned if the center is playable? Do I need more ins and outs from center? and Yes I have a biuld with the OS on bottom tower. As for as the carb towers havn't messed around wth those yet. My main focus right now is to fix the center tower-- And I'll admit that I havn't found a quick fix. if anyone has any ideas on how to fix or improve this map that would be nice. So on to better news, bc someone asked for it, I am making a larger v. of Exile-- that will play 8 FFA.

First I would go with the OS on bottom center.

Second, I really really love how your center tower looks. If you still have enough bridges or can come up with a good way to do it. Then maybe try putting two more entrances from the sides that arent bases. It might give the map a sanctuary feel to it but nothing wrong with that.

Either way its just a suggestion, and im not sure how it would work without looking at it, but I really like what your doing with this map.

As for the news on Exile. Im sooo pleased to hear it. I realize it might be hard because of lack of materials, but I really want to see how you make the transition. I keep an eye out for it when you get it done.
