I, as well as other members of this site know how to use AutoCAD. While it's not very smart to download and learn it just to forge maps, as said in other topics, it's a great program to use if you already know how to use it.

Anyways, I am not as good at Forge as I am at AutoCAD, however if the community wanted to get together on a map where someone can design it on AutoCAD's 3d Modeling version, and someone who is an expert in forge such as Salot, Kon, Fritzer, Zak, etc. who have made successful clean maps before can overview them and choose to map it.

If anyone's interested, AIM me for an "illegal" link to AutoCAD 2009 @ [iTz a Tr4p]. I'll make a template with all the objects sometime today.

I can use AutoDesk Inventor (same company as AutoCAD), and I could do this all fairly simply. I just need some basic dimensions.

would be really sweet to get feedback and pictures on some potential maps without having to go through with the hassle of actually forging. I have AutoCAD as well, if you guys get the dimensions down let me know.

It's not so much dimensions... It's the proportions. Even rough proportions... As long as you can tell that a crate is a crate, a double box is a double box, and a wall is a wall, we can do this. If we can get these all modeled, the files could be uploaded for others to use for map design with some form of standards. We don't necessarily need the filleted edges of the double boxes either. When I have some time, I'll devise some form of measuring the objects so we can get these proportionate. It'll probably take a week or two to get everything modeled. (Spring Break next week, too).

It'll be nice when it's all done though. :)

I'll be doing it in Inventor... someone want to do this in AutoCAD, since that seems to be a bit more common?

Unfortunately, it's not a free program, nor am I willing to provide anyone with an illegal download of it. =\

IF someone could get this worked out and told me where i could get this program i could make, honestly, some of the sickest maps youve ever seen. I have a ton of ideas and inspiration but i HATE the process of doing the fuse glitch in forge, and this discourages me. But if i could work from my comp i could crank out really sick maps.
