MLG settings are up to v4 now. v4 has been working out quite well for us, but what about the new maps? The Heroic map pack has been out for quite some time, and I was wondering if MLG is planning on introducing any of the heroic mpas into MLG(Excluding Foundry, and remakes of...)
Now with the Legendary Map packs, I'm just curious to see if Bungie has seen the competitive hype of Halo3, and are attempting to make the new map pack with some symetrical, asymetrical, and overall competeitive battle maps for MLG gametypes. Now that MLG and Bungie are working together, introducing MLG in MM, does anyone here think bungie will help out MLGs struggling Staff to create more competitive play?(no offense to anyone on the MLG staff, your all doing a teriffic job! But with help from the game creators, editing maps should be a sinch)

Well they definately won't be adding Rat's Nest to the mix. As for Standoff, people around here have suggested it as a CTF and maybe Team Slayer map, but I don't see them adding it.

Only time will tell. Rat's Nest is a definite no. Stand Off just seems way to wide open. But then again so was Sanctuary for the most part. Who knows. On LAN I'm sure Standoff would work well, but the BR's inconsistent spread could still be annoying.
Ghost Town could be good if it ends up not being a completely one sided map. Asymmetrical maps can work for competitive play, but they have to be even from both sides, sort of like Lockout. Avalanche is also a definite no, and the unnamed map, well we still don't know.
Only time will tell.

Rat's nest could potentially work. When it first came out Lahja made a closed off version that didn't allow you onto the track on the outside of the map. I thought it played fairly smoothly, but it didn't garner much attention

I didnt know someone else had done it, but I was going to mention that I had used bridges to close off all the outside ring myself...It plays like a small map :)
I didnt mess with it for TOO long, but the only problem I found was closing off the deck behind each base, I wanted to preserve it so that people could go out the back of the bank, and I only ended up with something you couldnt run out of...just shoot out of.

Yeah we need more maps, its the same handful of maps each time.
Standoff would be a nice CTF, Slayer map.

standoff would only really work for 2 flag and may be hill. The more likely scenario is more foundry maps and may be 1 or 2 of the legendary map pack.

Really? That sounds pretty cool. Know of anywhere i can find it?
I'm amazed at what some of the MLG guys have done with Foundry, the only problem is, they all look exactly the same just because foundry isn't the cutest map we've seen. I wonder how many different forge variations of maps the guys who make those executive decisions have gone through when finalizing the map set..

The No name map will go MLG if its a remake of Lockout. But only time will tell, because no one knows if its lockout.
