This thread is for the sole purpose of petitioning bungie to get us a new canvas map for forge. I know that many of my fellow forging peers and myself are sick of the Foundry because of the objects given and the rusted out scenery that is just not appealing. Hopefully Frankie will or another Bungie employee will drop by and see this. So sign in this thread if you wish to join our plea.

EDIT: As you can already see, some of the most involved forgers appear on this list. Some people love to play games you know? And still others like to exercise their minds and create art. That's us. Hence why we want a new canvas.

bungie plans on having a forge update with the new map pack (see ign.com) -- just hope its more objects and options, and not to fix the glitches.

No Fn kidding. Maps not symetrical nomatter how you look at it. Boxes even perfectly flat turned upsidedown have a mystery bump. So much random geometry on the walls it is redonculous.
I think they had 2 guys working on the map. 1 on each side. How terrible foundry is makes my blood boil just to think about the dozens of problems. How sometime no matter what I can't make a box flat. Like there is some invisible geometry on the floor in random spots. Through the insane amount of new refined glitches we are building maps that will stomp out all other bungie maps.

I don't recall ever seeing you put any maps into the MLG forge collaboration, so therefore your negative comment is the most useless thing ever.

Sorry about the delay. I have recently regained my motivation for forging with some requests of friends of mine. Currently working on a good large, 2 base for TS and FFA, as well as revising my best map to date (yet to be released look for it later I will put out v1). Will get on the list update about 3 pm Est.

They should just make a blank map(no default version) and make it so you can choose a size(small,medium,large). I think that many of the forgers would also agree.

My wishlist for next canvas:
1. Completely flat (4 walls, a floor, and a ceiling whose edges all meet at 90 degree angles) cube shaped map.
2. The area of floor should be 10% smaller than Foundry's when its back portions are blocked off as most forged maps in this forum are. UNLESS the BR spread is fixed, in which case it should be 10 or 15% bigger.
3. No invisible ceiling.
4. No items should use that frame-rate killing mesh fencing.
5. A larger budget, if feasible. Would $1,000 be too much to ask for?
6. No limit to how many of any paricular item can be place. If somebody wants to put $700 (or $1,000) worth of doors all over the place and call it a map, they should be able to.
7. A scalable, translucent, 3D grid that can be toggled on and off to make alignment easier.
8. The ability to make any normally movable item non-movable.
9. 3 different size of boxes (and double boxes): small, medium (current-size), and large
10. 3 different lengths of walls (and double walls): small (current height), medium (50% taller), and large (twice as tall)
11. 3 different length bridges: small (50% long as normal bridges), medium (normal bridge length), and long (50 longer than normal bridges)
12. The ability to snap/rotate any object you're currently holding 90 degrees along any axis by use of the D-pad.
13. The ability to toggle "dragging" of an object being held on and off. When dragging is turned off, control of the movement/placement of the object should be done with an analog stick while holding one of the bumpers.
Being a computer engineer and having a knowledge of game programming, I don't think any suggestion on this list is beyond reason or too hard to implement.
In fact, I would gladly relocate to Washington and work/help on all of this with no pay until the project was completed. :)

Looks like good suggestions. However, I think Boxes should have a "Door-like" feature to them. That way you can merge them together without starting a new round and leave out Nade-holes from the side of the wall without Geo-Glitching.

Takes too long to forge anything of high quality right now. There are TONS of ways to reduce time. Most have been said, but here are a few others: -in options way to make objects go through stuff for geo/inter easier
-Winding Bridge : Small, Med. and Large
"coverer" object (minuscule,ex size of weapon) for small readjustments
- steps for custom sized stairs that float and snap in place
