MLG Catastrophe

V2 is done

Hey y'all this is Dominate. I've been working on this for about one month. It's close to completion, I just need to:
- Fix the lifts to the sniper tower (Now, you shouldn't get stuck in there)
- Add some cover to the open middle (I've added an upside-down dumpster on both sides so it would be less open)
- Tweak the spawn points (done)

I've played a few customs on it and it played very smooth and well!
HOWEVER: This is just the first version, so after you've ran some customs on it, tell me what could be improved!

Suitable for gametypes:
- MLG TS (2, 3 or 4 players for every team)
- MLG FFA (Max. of 6 people)
- MLG CTF (3-4 players for every team)

Description:
My intention was to make an FFA map that was also suitable for team games. As you can see I've tried to divide the map in 2 sections. (with the middle inspired by the Pit, the bases by Midship). This because I want to avoid people shooting from the other side of the map on people doing a 1v1 (for example).

Also, to create some hectic fighting in the middle, I've put a Rocketlauncer there with 0 reserve clips.
Of course the Sniping Tower can't be forgotten. It has 2 construct-like lifts leading to the top. There, the sniper has view over the 2 bases and a part of the middle. The sniper can defend himself with stickies that spawn there every 20 seconds.

Weapons:
- Carbine x6
- Rocket Launcher x1
- Mauler x1
- Sniper Rifle x1
- Plasma grenade x4
- Frag grenade x6

wow looks really great dude would like to download the test map to have a run around!! It does look very similar to Amplified v1.2 though?!

The bases definitely look influenced by amplified, I'd like to take a look around this map for myself. I think what would be the car, or yellow side is interesting from the pictures, the open box drop downs.

The walls placed under an angle was my own idea. Though the B-sign was taken from Amplified I must admit. But the rest of the map is completely different from Amplified.

Right, the map is awesome...bar a few changes that I've made :P

Not ****ting on your picnic, these are just things that I think make it flow better and I hope you like/listen to the ideas.

The tower to the side:

a) The lifts are brilliant work, but in my first custom I got stuck in them. Not very practical. So I replaced them with forged walls lying horizontal, so now players have to jump onto the side of them before getting to the top of the tower.
b) I also removed the cover from the top of the tower as players can now fall down off the side and land on the walls to hide on - works extremely like Pink Tower in h3, and is my favourite addition.
c) At the base of the tower I removed the fence walls and added an Open Double Box. This creates a Pink 1 area where players can spawn in safety, but have a hard time escaping if the other team has total control.
d) I removed the box on the middle level and replaced it with walls/bridges so now its very similar to pink tower in Midship.

The Bases:

Added a bit of cover. At the moment its like a long corridor that players can spawn in facing you or with their back to you basically screwing up a flag run. Rather than have it like this: ------- its now sorta --v--v-- with ledges to hide behind.

Middle area:

I removed the middle box and Rockets. The middle area had far too much cover imo, and I just replaced it with a very simple set of 2 Wall Corners burried into the ground at opposite angles. Now players can hide there and shoot the base simple but have no cover from the tower area. Its angles like that that promote team control and working together.

If you want to see my suggestions I'll put it up in my file share for you to grab.

As I said, those are my suggestions which you are in now way obliged to follow but as this forum is about feedback and constructive critiscism thats what I feel i've given.

Andz, thanks for your input. I also discovered that the lifts to sniper tower werent very practical. And I too have added extra cover in the bases. Id like to add you and show what i have changed for V2. Could you post your gamertag or add me? My GT is U Dominate U.

My main GT has 100 spaces filled, but my 2nd one:

Sir LOLs v2 is fine to add, just don't expect me on that much. Oh and be warned i'm English and proud :P
