Put short- he's godly. I haven't seen any weaknesses, he fits the criteria of a top character (easy to use, good combos, has moves that can be "exploited" to counter most characters)

He hasn't really been nerfed, if anything he's better than he was in melee. The only difference is spacing, because of the lack of wavedash IMO. Regardless, his moves all flow well.

Pros- He's fast, he's strong, he combos really well (f-air, n-air will set up anything), his moves are spaced nicely.

Cons- His recovery isn't too great. Is easily gimped (but what character isn't)

Really I haven't seen many characters who can counter Marth. I did play a really good Toon Link recently and all the projectiles and his quick moves caught me off guard, didn't really feel I could do much against it. So TL might be a counter, but in theory Marth's sword range seems a lot better than TL so maybe it was just me being unprepared for that kind of match up.

Ike seems like another counter.....his sword has incredible range and Marth's frame, while not necessarily light, will KO at 60 from Ike simply because it's Ike lol. But I find Ikes aren't too difficult to beat with Marth because you can overwhelm Ike users with constant offense and Marth's spacing.

Anyway, Marth top tier for sure. I don't know any other characters that can naturally match him really.

He is basically the same character from Melee in Brawl. I don't understand that though, they nerf every character from Melee to Brawl (some have only a few things and others are massive) and then they get to Marth and it seems like they completely skipped over him.

He is actually easier to combo with in Brawl because SH Double Fairs are now something a 5 year old can do. Oh well.

lol....i love the way you put that Roddy. It's like, let's nerf EVERYONE, but hell...we like marth. Let's keep him the same.

Hey, at least he can't chain grab anymore. That would be ridiculous.

Not much of one, if you think about it. Olimar just barely out-ranges Marth, and at that, Olimar's, overall, slower. He doesn't seem like much of a counter, but I haven't experienced a good Olimar yet.

olimar is a counter

I'm going to have to disagree with you on that one. I am confident that I have a pretty decent Olimar (not trying to brag) and I have a hard time with Marth. A friend of mine that I play with isn't that great at all (he knows the basics like short hop, fast fall, and all that) and I have a tough time getting through Marth's range, even though it's a lot shorter in Brawl.

If anything, I find Marth is the counter to Olimar. One character Olimar destroys in my experience though is Sheik. He can do some bad stuff to her. At least that's how my fight against Fenrir's (he is one of the best players in FL) went.

Interesting, care to elaborate?

I haven't played any good Olimars, but I can't see how he'd be a counter......as Roddy said, wouldn't Marth outrange him evey time?

Well, in a way Marth was nerfed. He no longer has his chain grab, and his reach has been reduced. Drastic, I know.

I don't like how he has suddenly become easier to use, however. Like Roddy said, the short-hopping is too easy. It took me a while to get it down in Melee, and I can do it infinitely on Brawl.

Eh. At least he's sexy.

I feel like Marth was downgraded a little :(
But I still think he's awesome.
Bring back Roy imo.
