An idea I'm smoothing out for another room-based, asymmetrical flowing map. Hopefully we can talk about it, revise the idea and create some working models for playtesting. If we get the kind of interest hang-out did, who knows what we'll come up with.

I imagine that this map would have at least 2 teleporter channels. One would be a two way between two interesting, open places. The other would be a one way that would allow the right side of the map (if you're looking at the overhead in pic 1) to get up to the S curve walkway a little easier.
I feel that the S curve room would have a lot of action tend to converge on it. Being open and a bad place to set up, it would be a perfect place for a power-up, namely rockets. One thing I like about this room is the way that the s walkway parades all the way through it and dominates the geometry, but is not actually accessible from the room. With a power-up up on that walkway there would be a premium on getting up there, especially if the power-up was about to spawn. This could inspire some cool jumps or grenade tricks.
Concerning the rather skinny walkways that run from the left right next to each other, I feel these could be made out of the sides of doors, walls, or signs. As long as it's a skinny surface, it will work. I emphasize the skinniness because I think this area would work better if it's kind of a treacherous walk over to that platform that's easy to fall from if you get distracted. After all, the platform that they lead to looks out over a lot of the level.

Looks crazy Nasty, I'm sure it will turn out amazing. Some of those rooms are very reminiscent of past halo maps and also some other FPS games.
I'd love to help out on this one if one of the more experienced forgers got their hands on it. Just to give input if anything. :-)

Couldn't agree more.
I can't really grasp the sketchup model in terms of Halo gameplay, but it looks like it could work well with a few changes (which will have to happen converting it to Forge).
On the last picture, I don't really see any function of the wall protruding from the tall structure on the left because it doesn't appear to make any jump possible or add cover.

I sort of envisioned a teleporter beneath it and an interesting weapon spawning there - namely the Plasma rifle. I thought it would be neat to force people to jump to it, and I figured it would add a bit of cover to people exiting the teleporter. Of course, all of this is theoretical and would need to be tested in gameplay.

Hmm very good point.

If you put a plasma rifle or sniper there, it could work since it wouldn't be an easy kill like rockets or mauler, but it would still promote camping.
I will keep my criticisms to myself until a version is made. It looks like it could have even more ways around the map than Hangout does, which is always a good thing. It is also a relief that people are straying away from the unoriginal two/four base symmetrical maps.

Go right ahead, I'll be happy to help and do some advanced forging if you need it. I have a lot of stuff to do right now so it would be awesome if you could begin construction on this :D

layout looks promising but some things look far too ambitious, for example i don't see how you could do that curvy S bridge, especially the pillars underneath. did you do any budget calculations yet?
another thing is, for budget reasons, competitive forge maps tend to put the wall facing on floor 2, that saves a whole set of walls you need to get rid of the foundry bases. you might want to rework it so at least one wall of the map is on floor 2 and 3 of foundry exclusively. working in the middle wall can squeeze in a little extra stuff to work with, as well.
one other question: what corner were you planning on having the crane be in? i can't really figure out the orientation of the map based on the sketchup.

Curvy S Bridge is 3 walls, easy. Pillars are Short Barriers :)

stuff like this is what i was hoping people would start forging. i remember in the beginning everyone was doing 'remakes' that looked and played nothing like the originals. very refreshing to see some original content.
one question; will the budget allow you to make the map?

There's a chance azazel and I's version will be finished tonight. I append my name to this version, but in truth azazel has done the vast majority of the work because we have a bad connection and off-host I can't see the map correctly.
But yea - a much more polished, fully geo-d version will be up quite soon. Many thanks to Sgt. Chaotic whose build really helped with visualization and planning.

Yeah, it's just littered with George Lucas bull****. So much CGI it's like a cartoon. And the action, while tons of it, is so unbelievably stupid that it's not even fun to watch.
And the script...don't even get me started.
I am a Production major though so I may be a little more harsh than others, but true Indy fans who know what it was all about are all gonna suffer the same thing that Star Wars fans did when the new 3 came out.
Oh, and I'm going to Indianapolis in the morning, so Mecro is being worked on.

the only issue with this map is the hight of some of the higher platforms. they are right up against foundrys walls and sometimes with the *** roof foundry has you can barley even jump. the solution is to make the plats not 2 boxes high but more like 1.5. but thats hard and time consumeing, other than that im going to try to build an inverted version and see how it feels.

as much as i'd love to want a symmetrical map, this map seems sick. just take your time guys. make sure to perfect everything. don't try to put too much in it. good luck yall.

bungie needs to make a empty map like foundry, except with a different texture, like make it in a chemical plant, or a underground secret facility, or a dam like goldeneye or transformers, making the main playing area a little bit bigger blocked off my a bobwire fence or something tite, just give us a new texture to play on other than the orange, red, brown color scheme making my eyes hurt on foundry
