View Full Version : Are teleporters taboo or something?

I haven't really seen all that many (I'm aware there are a few) MLG-designed maps floating around that use teleporters for much more than holding things in place. Is there a reason for this, or have you guys just not really needed them for your map concepts?
Or have I just not been looking very hard?

The main amount of space foundry provides may be why but the majority of maps around here or two base sym which don't really need to incorpaerte them 4 base maps use them pretty will but there are only a couple there. The main maps they are ues in are Asyms and there are teles on the popular asyms right now.

teleporters are annoying easy to camp and nobody is creative enough to take solutions to deal with this, such as place it in midair or stick a grav lift behind it.

A lack of creativity is not the reason that so few people use ports. It is because they are hard to use with balanced gameplay. Putting a port in midair with a lift behind it is stupid. You would most likely be way to exposed when you come out of the port and ports are inherently designed to be power areas like they were on Warlock and BC. Ports that are hard to survive by will just be useless most of the time.

Isn't it because of how retarded teleporters are in H3? (They fix your aim when you go through them)

teleporters where used in stockpile one of the first maps to be on the pro circut, it was taken out, but teles are still not taboo it just depends on how you use them
how not to use teles
1. puttin gto much cover around them
2 allowing them to be an easy way to cap a flag
3 not allowing them to be to powerful on the map
