View Full Version : Shockwave. Similar to ONS/AMP and with hints of Warlock and Beaver Creek.

SHOCKWAVE - By Greg 'ultraSick' Porter.

This is my first proper map. I spent about an hour and 20 minutes on this making sure it was balanced and had no advantage to each side/team, totally equal and fair.

When I started making this map I wanted it to be very MLG based like Amplified and Onslaught but I wanted to make it feel a little like Warlock from Halo 2 but as I started making the bases I started thinking that Beaver Creek was really good because of the two way teleporters which meant you always had to watch your back when you were at your base - I decided to go and mix both - Each base (Red base/Blue base) has a two way teleporter that takes you to the back of the other base much like Beaver Creek.

Also there is a Rocket raised up and Sniper opposite raised up too similar to Beaver Creek. The rest of the map, ie the middle and "battle-zones" are much like Warlock with the centre having a powerup and both teams being able to get there just as fast as each other. I was going to put a Mauler with the OS but I thought I'd just leave the Sniper and Rockets as the only power weapons. There is a few BRs and Carbines scattered around along with some Frags.

I am still working on this fixing all the imperfections.

Hopefully this gets noticed by some MLG people and they take it into consideration for a MLG map.

I just downloaded it and I'm going through it now. Here are some things I noticed:

1) I can get the OS and Camo from the bases.
2) It's a little confined where the teleporters are. When I go through one, I almost run into the back of the base.
3) Underneath the Sniper spawn is a little confined as well. When I go up the steps, theres a dumpster.

Overall, it's a really cool map. A little more cover down at the bottom areas(like barricades) and a few tweaks here and there, it'd be a great map. I like the idea of mixing Midship and Battle/Beaver Creak.

im sorry to say but the sides of the map are terrible... u need to do something to them....
also fix the OS and Camo so its merged (making them ungrabable) and MLG uses Custom powerup not default OS

They are to signifiy Red and Blue base, not to use. I still have to merge them.
