Hey there, my name is Matty, and im a staff member at ForgeHub (http://www.forgehub.com/forum/)

I have plenty of experience with making maps of a range of styles, but so far none with making a map catered for Major League Gaming.

I have been recently thinking about making a map for MLG, but im positive that it is too consuming to try and make a map that can support strategic play and still be built in Foundry.

I know alot of you will disagree with me on that part, but its my opinion. Foundry is too small for MLG, you can't get get enough Hotspots in the map and still have it play fair and balanced.

I have been looking into designing a map on Rats Nest. Ok you can all say im a noob if you want.

Please excuse the shoddy paintsmanship, my Photoshop is broken.

The White line represents Map geometry. Ofcourse this would be all merged, so it looked as neat as possible. More geometry would be added on the 'Road area' (far left) because on its own it is far too open.

I would just like to know what you think of this idea. If you saw an 'MLG' tagged map, and then realised it was on Rats Nest, what would you think?

This is smaller than The Pit, and has less meeting points.

Although this has a larger base on both sides, they are much easier to access.

Do you have any fileshare links cause Id like to test this. I always thought that if rats nest was somehow modified right, it could turn out to be a great mlg map

Rats Nest is too cramped. Every room is easy to camp because there are so many entrances and even with the entrances blocked off, the rooms are too small. You would have a whole bunch of seperate battles which obviously does not promote teamwork.

And for the record, I have tried to make a map on Rats Nest. It just didn't work because the inside is horrible for competitive gaming. If the map could be scaled up without the track, I definately think it might work. The geometry is there, it's just scaled horribly for 4v4.

Plagued made a Rats nest Map using the exact layout you have.

actually not quite he didnt use the back part of the basesthis closeed portion but this blocked off version of Rat's Nest is about the same size as Pit and would work well with the same focus on rushing for the pwoer weapons. Just keyy in Nest v1 in the search bar you should find something

It almost seems like theres too few meeting points, maybe not though. It might be too much of a campfest to be competitive. It really depends how you forge it though, Im sure youll be able to make it work

Check out my map, Crows Nest v1. Use it for inspiration if you want, I really want something good to come out of Rats Nest and Crows Nest is the best I can think of, sure it needs some tweaks but havent been able to get enough people to test it thourghly enough.

I think the bases would be too campable and the spawns would be lil unpredictable even if you couldnt camp.... its not open enough? great idea though nevermind i see you included the outer bases too its 1:00 what do you want from me? but still only 3 meeting points mabye a tunnel through the middle?
