I have a couple thoughts to express here. Mostly about montages between games, new montages being better than others....and also the differences between a good montage and a bad montage in the community lately.

Halo: A lot of people are enthused by multi kills, such as double, triple and overkill, etc. Editing in montages is ridiculous, it's amazing, but is that why most people like montages because they are edited good and the gameplay isn't good? I think that the community really is enthused by the editing and not gameplay.

Call of Duty 4: People are just too enthused with the +10's and +5's...Why are the montages so much different between games...why do people not show mult kills? I would like to see some more +100's with collateral or something. Why is there no good editing in CoD montages? Is there a way to express your editing skills in montages? Why is it different than Halo?

Gears of War: I'm not saying I know much about montages for this game...but from what I've seen from a lot of random montages is that it's one kill, not spectacular...just some random headshot or shotgun. My friend x tek it ez o has a bunch of GoW montages out and his are so unique, which is probably why I like them. Why are the games' communities so much different when it comes to montages?

Halo: Well yes it is true people have amazing editing skills in Halo 3, I think that is because it mostly isn't their first montage. Basically people probably had practice in Halo, Halo 2 and some other games ( if they played them). Ans also a yes to your last comment editing does make a montage. One thing i hate to do is watch a montage and it looks like all they did was record it and put it in. It looks like something i can do in 2 hours if i had to.

Call of Duty 4: Well montages are basically different between games because the gamply or gametypes are different. People don't show multi kills because they are just over-whelmed when they see a 20 KILL STREAK pop up on there screen. I agree with you on they search and destroy part too. Becuse you have one life to do what you gotta do. So if you see someone pop of 4,5,or may be even 6 kills in a round its just amazing, especially if they are strung together. Editing in call of duty montages are not good because nobody has set any standards i bet if someone came out with 2 or 3 montages on CoD that just blow people away. they wont just string their clips together. Call of Duty being different from Halo, yes defiantly. But only if they are both good montages. I like to see a montage on CoD in search like i said before, but on Halo the montages are respawn even though they don't show you. But it is a lot easier to make a Halo montage because of the theater feature and it gives you medals for everything you do, and i think that just spices it up better. i mean would you rather there be letters that run across your screen that say 15 KILL STREAK. or would you rather have a sweet looking medal pop up and a sweet voice that says RUNNING RIOT. Basically in my opinion Halo > CoD any day.

Gears of War: I can't respond to this one because i have never been a GoW fan so i will leave this to anothre person.

Montages do change between games. Out of every single one I've seen though...

Annihilation by Own-Age

Pt. 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDtxQM94aZY
Pt. 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fI-WaMsKmlI&feature=related
Pt. 3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5P-vUWYO1hA&feature=related

... is definitely the best one I've ever seen in any game. The sickest and cleanest editing (no obscuring transitions), the best syncing to any music, the most insane single and multi kills, and tons of names.

Every single person who makes a montage should be required to view this.
