This is my 3rd map and by far my best. this map incorporates parts of arena style maps and room based maps. i feel that this map is a collision of these map styles.one half of the map is just like a typical 2 base map with a high tower in the middle of 2 bases, but the other half of the map is a courtyard with a power-up in the middle and a walk-way along the outside. i have been forging all day every day for about a week. if i had to guess the amount of time put into the map i would say at least 50 hours.

IMHO pictures don't do this map justice, it really needs to be played on for you to grasp the concept and enjoy all the gameplay elements this map has to offer.

I've ran a number of customs on this today and although a few spawn changes are in order I can assure all of you that this a fantastic and unique map. I'm going to bullet point why the map is awesome:

- The bases are incredibly well designed and are actually closed off to an extent. They are non traditional (basically meaning onslaught style bases) and they have a limited number of access points to the top section

- Courtyard kicks ass. This section of the map is just sick. Team Slayer games often seem to revolve around fighting for the DAMP and the map actually feels similar to controlling the center of sanctuary. There's also about six entrances to this section which keep it incredibly interesting.

- The DAMP is killer. In slayer games its a huge focus because its the sole power-up. It works great for smaller maps because how quickly you can rack up kills (2 shot BR, 1 melee, hand nuke frag nades) and because good teamwork or a well placed nade can take the person who has it down. It's good to be sneaky with it because the fact that you change colors means that the other team will foremost focus on killing you. In CTF games it serves as a vital tool for making a push, and more of an incentive to go into the courtyard which is lesser used than in slayer games.

-Flow/ Gamespeed. The map is fast paced like all foundry maps but thanks to the courtyard the map is given a slightly slower pace than the usual clusterf*** that occurs on even the best of the two base maps in TS. The map flow is also great because there are generally tons of different ways to any area on the map which actually for once makes strategic movement important.

YOU ALL NEED TO PLAY THIS MAP AS IT IS EXTREMELY UNIQUE AND YOU CAN'T UNDERSTAND THE LAYOUT THAT WELL FROM THE PICS. DL NOW!!!

I think Wheezy's running a bunch of test games tomorrow so if you're interested join his party to try out goliath and have fun two shotting people with the damage amplifier.

Witness the sickness.

This map is very cool, and had a great flow even before the V2 changes were made.
The added access to the courtyard is welcomed, as it makes it harder to set up in.

The bases are original and functional without being fortresses of uber cover, yet the amount of cover keeps them nicely seperated. There are tactical jumps ahoy all over the map that any ninja would be proud of.

Weapon and nade placement is perfect in my opinion.

I'm looking forward to more games on it.

i think that poor camo/gold is the best way to make a player look absolutely petrifying imo. take a look :)

i also figured out how to get out of the map in about 3 seconds, might want to fix that

do you mean that he turns pink when he picks up the power-up. because we changed it to white

i made some slight changes. i made a crane on the other side.i also added spawn areas to ts gametypes. so i suggest you re-download the map.

Just finished testing OS in place of DAMP and they both play great. Os seemed to slow down the pace of the game and centered the focus toward the bases and high sides of the map rather than courtyard as in DAMP games.

Very smooth game.
Slayer plays best, followed by king and ctf.

King has been revamped since most have played it and it runs very smooth and extremely fast paced for a king game; as the hills dont offer too much cover forcing teamwork.

If you havent played this map yet do yourself a favor and D/L it now!!!

It is not like other foundry maps, it plays more like PIT/Sanctuary Hybrid with a Midship feel as there are multiple height defferences inducing fun br fights.

overall i give it a 8.5/10.

Definately MLG material.

That is pretty much the same feeling I get while plying it. I agree with it being mlg material too, I want to run some more test games but I can't even imagine how awesome it will be by the time it goliath v3 or v4 is released. Its already great and can only improve.

Hey Wheezy, is the map you sent me earlier the most up to date version? I never had the chance to download the one you posted on here, but when you recommended the file to me, I downloaded the the map and the TS game type.

I ran through it with a friend while he was on the phone(we were playing Doubles), and I tried out the DAMP... it's pretty cool :D

I just ran through it to get a feel for the layout, and noticed than one of the closed Single Boxes that are stacked on top of the Open Single Boxes in the DAMP courtyard didn't spawn until 180 seconds had passed, so you may want to change the run-time minimum or update the spawn option if you get the chance.

Once I've had the chance to run some proper games on it I'll offer some better feedback, but it looks excellent so far!

The maps been updated several times now. It plays even better with improved spawn points, I haven't yet had a bad spawn while playing the map and even the random people I'm getting in the games, who usually have a tendency to call every foundry map they play ***, are really enjoying it.

I love this map and so does Ryan. I haven't tried it out with the DAmp, only with OS but that is also something I want to do. Worked really well with King and TS.

I had a really good time on this map for KoTH when playing with you wheezy; there are lots of good flanking and room for strafing and plenty of jumps that make sense.

I'm still not a big fan of the damage amp in halo 3 and believe the OS in that room would be more fitting, as it is an open room next to the hill, but I like how you try things out. I think a way for that to work with damage amp is to devote and entire room or series of hallways sectioned off most of the action for the amplifier. Player would then fight for on the timer and that is the best way for that to work, but as it is positioned I see it as a brief luck enhancer as it takes skill to out BR, but not to recharge shield.

I'm hooking up my capture card to show you some things in those games. This map and the layout can be improved for even better gameplay, and that's a good thing. I like to think of it and the layout of any map as contrast in geometry and where the two bridges are some is lacking in the aspect of spawning and being helpless in the middle of the room compared to the “grand” room. I really like the transition on the two ramps though. Most people don’t know this but I find that the use of ramps for flanking, cover, out strafing as well as smooth leeway for getting to level two a very important key to making good maps within the limitations of forge.

Well last night was pretty good, testing everyones maps in the party. About yours i really liked the overall look and feel of the map. The DAMP area (courtyard) epic. Although im unsure about the damp the geometry and overall look/feel of that area is sweet. the bases are very unique and i like how you tried to get away from the traditional 2/4 base style maps. I suggest people that you download this map and give feedback and comments so weezy can prefect this work of art. Good job and keep up the good work weezy.

I played this map, it is very fun. Not as fun as Onslaught but better than Amplified. I think you should have 1 or 2 more things for cover. Good Job

after doing some tests with a bunch of different people i kind of like the way the OS plays more than DAmp, so im going to stick with the regular old Custom overshield. thanks Rob, fritz, jack, ronoc,and any one else who has had "the balls" to post their opinion over the internet.

On the OS over Damp i have to agree with Zax. The map seemed slower paced with the OS. But i want to try this out. How about having the OS spawn Faster and give you a slight increase in speed. If this works out like im playing out, it will make people want to get in peoples faces some more.

i still might do some tests with damp on a weaker setting because it seems a little too powerful. fritzster was right, it takes the skill out of the game only having to shoot 2 br bursts to kill some one

Awesome map, and all the gametypes ran well which suprised me. CTF had to be my favorite though. Im not totally sold on the damp but I didn't get a good enough feel of it to make up my mind yet. Good job on the map and good luck getting it out there.

I just finished Version 3. not too many changes.

V3.0 changes
-made the back entrances to the courtyard wider.
-interlocked the bridges from high tower to a and be bases to make more room on a and b bases.
-made some minor weapon and spawn changes.
-moved the a and b hills toward high tower a bit.
-A and B signs infront of OS spawn are now touching each other. you also can't jump on them any more.
-added dumpsters under the OS ramps to cover spawns
-flipped some bridges upside down(or right side up depending on how you look at it)

i made these changes to try and make game play run a smoothly as possible. if you have any more suggestions. please tell me.

Sorry i havent got to leave much feedback for Goliath yet Wheezy. I enjoyed playing CTF and TS on this map I felt they like they played smoothly but i'm just not a fan for KOTH and Custom Area is just amazing, makes foundry feel bigger than it actually is. A few things that were slightly sloppy stood out to me such as the crane geo and one of the signs were crooked by a fence ramp but dont mind me i'm just a perfectionist i guess lol. I hope to see this map on the circuit someday. Good Job Wheezy.

iv been playing this map and i love it its so unique compared to amp and ons it flows really nice and has really good spawns for a foundry map, ill be happy to test out any new versions or put some ideas foward if u need any add I CozMic I.

dont even bother. after looking at your maps the last thing i would want is you reviewing mine. this map is far superior to lions cage in every way. lions cage was a joke. so are you. get a grip.

hit the lights wasnt planted. hes just a good friend over XBL and was with me for a good portion of the map making process. it was his idea to use the damage amplifier as well.

im going to be working on this map throughout the weekend to try and release it on either monday or tuesday. i have completely changed the high side of the map, and im thinking about changind the bases a bit too. im going to try and use bridges to make the top floors of the bases isntead of walls. i hope this will make the map look better and play smoother.or is it more smoothly? i dont know. anyways i hope that these changes are going to make the map even better than it did before. so look out for that. also. i might be adding rockets where OS used to be and put OS under the new high tower which if i do say so my self looks pretty nifty.
