My question regards every map out there being in Foundry. I know it has one of the largest pallet of items that can be placed in it, but it seems the forgers are being limited by it's size. There are literal acres of space on other maps that is currently unused, that surely the imagination of the community would be able do amazing things with.
For example, has anyone ever considered making a map outside/above/below the normal boundaries of a map? Avalanche has, in my eyes, a beautiful pallet of objects that can be used, and more space than most would know what to do with. Not only that, but you get more base "money" to use than in Foundry (only $100 more, but still). Valhalla, Sandtrap, and Narrows, a little lame in terms of objects, but they too have a lot of yet-unused space. I just know that Foundry's human style architecture lacks that Halo feel that we got from the Forerunner and Covenant architecture found in some of the classic maps of the past, and the color palate sucks! Doo-doo brown? Avalanche seems to be the perfect place to start fresh.
I know it's nice in Foundry having the flat floor to work up from, and having to create a flat bit of land from scratch would be a pain, but has anyone ever thought it might be worth the trouble? No longer would you be confined by the square world of foundry, you could create your own! This could be the closest thing to a "level editor" anyone will ever get. I can imagine completely new confined worlds, just above the heads of the kids running around in matchmaking.
And yes, before anyone asks, I have started a project of my own above Avalanche. But seeing as I have NEVER forged anything in my life (and completely suck at it), it probably will never see the light of day.
