Well, since my 360 got the RRoD and I didn't really feel like hooking up my old Xbox and playing Halo 2, I decided to create a map on Sketchup that I could work on when I got my box back. The end result of several hours of clicking is as follows. Please note that I don't have the nice-looking template like Fritzer does, and I'm using the standard one provided on the forge forum main page.
Because of my 360's unfortunate accident, I was unable to begin work on this map. However, PulseKiller, an extremely talented forger, was able to craft this map (and far better than I could've ever made, as I'm not the best with foundry out there). This thread has been updated with Pulse's work to this point. Please note that the forge version of the map isn't finished quite yet.
In a nutshell, Defiled is a 2-base symmetrical foundry map. However, it is much, much more than its generic description gives it. The best way I can describe it is this - Onslaught, Midship, Lockout, and Zenith all got together and had a baby. This is that baby.

There are 4 main elements to Defiled. You have the bases, the tower (what will be known as "A side" in the future), the nameless side that will become "B side," and the midmap. When designing this map, I wanted to create a map that flowed seamlessly and had just the right balance of cover and openness. I also wanted to keep future power weapons in mind, as well as create map positions that are powerful, but not invincible.
You may have noticed that there isn't a wall. This is due to my wall being mainly constructed of materials not available for your use in Sketchup (fence boxes, fence walls).

Arguably the most important feature of any foundry map, Defiled's bases are open, but not too open, similar to the bases of both Onslaught and Lockdown. A double box is home of the main "platform" of the base. A unique double box and bridge geomerge will result in a base that has a two-way traffic flow both above and below.

A may include a door or sign under the base between the two bridges, similar to that of Amp.
While not technically part of the bases, the A Plat and B Plat connect the top level of the bases to A Tower and B Side.

The tower was designed to be a power position on the map because of its high elevation and excellent lines of sight. The small amount of cover forces players controlling the tower to play smart to avoid getting forced out of the tower. The tunnels underneath can provide a quick and sneaky route from under one base to the other or to bottom mid.

Essentially, "B" side can be divided into "high" and "low." The indented part, which will involve a combination wall/floor geoglitch, has excellent cover but very poor lines of sight, whereas the elevated platform has little cover but lines of sight to rival those of the tower. While not originally designed to be as powerful a position as the tower, "B" side will no doubt play a crucial role in Defiled's gameplay.

Directly connected to "B" side, midmap is certain to be the site of many mid-range BR battles and close-quarters fights. Top mid has sparse cover, but will be certain to be a key position to hold as it provides direct routes to tower, "B" side, and both of the bases.

My question is; Will you have enough material/budget to get this finished?
This very good, but also looks as if it will be improbable to finish for that reason. Now i didnt go and count all the things in the pictures, but it looks as if you went over your material/budget.

I counted everything, and I ended up with 27 double boxes, 16 single boxes, 14 double walls, 16 single walls, and 15 bridges. I might have to budget glitch (I hope I don't have to), just because of the complexity of the map. Even with most of my walls and bridges used, I should have enough objects to complete my wall. The map itself is going to be extremely tricky to forge, especially B side and the tower, but I believe I can do it.

You can only place 24 double boxes, I think. You could possibly use open double boxes in areas which dont need them though. Otherwise, you would have to block off the entrances, perhaps using open single boxes.
But the map looks freaking awesome.

Yes, I was planning on using open double boxes, as I believe you get either 16 or 8 of those. I would most likely use open double boxes for the tower, since closed boxes are the least trouble to geoglitch. I would most likely use any left over boxes for the wall.

idea i think would be pretty crazy for this tower. where you have the middle ramp on the side from the floor have geod down stairs to the lower platform. From the picture looks like it would work idk though czuase i cnt design it in sketchup.

They are geod correct? Make sure you geo them if they aren't.

I must admit, the tower looks sexier than I could've ever made it. Once the wall is finished, cover (and maybe jump-ups?) are added and weapons and spawns are worked out, this is going to be one hell of a map.

Unfortunately, I'll be at work tomorrow night. I get out of at school at 12:30pm and I can play until about 4pm, then work 5pm to 10pm(all Eastern Time), so hopefully you'll have it done by then! :D

And also, testing most likely will not happen tomorrow, and if it does, it will not be many games. Testing will most likely happen the day after tomorrow.

As far as power weapons go, I'm thinking no rockets or snipe. I'm thinking this'll play kinda like midship, only a a little more open; and I loved that midship was just straight BRs. Maybe add a mauler?
But meh, just my opinion. I have 0 experience with forge so I'll trust ya'lls judgement.

Wow. Amazing looking map. Hopefully KC sees this map. If not you should try to contact him in some way. This map looks way better then AMP and even Ons. KC could also help with spawns and **** if you need it. He really seems to know a lot about the halo 3 spawn system and how to make the spawns more fair. GL and I can't wait to see the finished product.

I'm no forger but I know a few of them and they're spending hours on single ramps, and these are some of the best. It really seems unprecedented.

This sucks... I had my map blocked off and I saved it, then when I went to go play it again, everything was missing. Luckily I had a backup version saved, so I can just re block it off, but I almost lost the entire map there.
