View Full Version : Team Test Map 3 - a Fritzster/Salot Masterpiece
Ive noticed alot of tension in the Forums between some Forgers in the Community so I wanted to say a few things about Team Test Map 3.
Team Test Map 3 was made by Fritzster-Salot and Zak Boo
This map was made before geoglitching was even heard of
Plays TS/CTF/FFA/King/Ball
As you know Fritzster and Zak Boo Made Amplified, and Salot Made Onslaught so back in February when the 3 were really good freinds they Made Team Test Map together.
But somehow they broke up and Fritz/Zak Made Amp and Salot made Onslaught but im here to bring back the map that started it All

As you can see these pics are similer right?
From what i can conclude Team test map was made by the 3 and when they broke up Salot went on with Onslaught and Fritzster went on with Amp, FROM THIS MAP!
I just wanted to repost this because this map is still really fun and plays great.

Yep I was playing this with you earlier and this map is amazing all it needs is a little more cover for the spawns.:)

Yep, the spawns are a bit sketchy, but the map plays great. It also needs to be geo-glitched/merged/whateveritscalled.

After this ONE statement I am done. Moving on…:
I know what you're trying to do JD
This whole thing is silly
For the record, team test map 3 and safeguard are two different things. Safeguard was zak and I's emergence from TTM3, salot disband from zak and I as he heard from a single comments from some pro gamers "the map sucks".
Next thing you know 3 weeks later zak and I completely remade everything from the ground up including the center, as one example that was our doing in the first place - as Amplified. For the record again after a long time of sweaty nights and eye drooping days - geomerging wasn’t even heard of and that was a statement zak and I wanted to prove in a fully fledged map not even attempted before 3-10-08. Lot of man-hours you deny from map design to the time it was built.
I want to give a shout out for once to RELLIK PIR on that one for being the ORIGINAL enlightenment of geomerging, then zak and I perfected with amplified, bold statements, and a lot of **** is being forgotten.
JD - Next time when being the arbiter, if you want to call yourself that, make sure you get 1024x768 resolution pictures and don't have those 100 feet away from the structures you're taking pics of. A lot of detail is missing, massive, MASSIVE detail is missing and that is only team test map 3, which looked like ass before zak and I "joined" with a very mediocre 2 base symmetrical map - then continued to safeguard. Did you copyright that one yet salot?
I will provide proof with every major version from TTM3 to Amplified v1.9 to MLG Amp v5.1 if I must, but honestly even when flanking the problem at hand - salot - NO one gives a crap, they just want to see us respectable people from communities crash and burn and your saying I've done nothing to the community without you, amazing bold statements.
Yes it's true we were once friends, the beginning in January salot/nexn were my influence, after making a the map called cataphract and then 2 more then I began to understand the people behind the egos.
A lot of people don't know the design theories behind Onslaught and Amplified, and their originalities before being adopted "helped" by MLG. Kind of like a metaphoric example:
Corvette vs. Mustang, being the mustang (ons) needs to constantly be updated and completely overhauled to keep up with the stock produced Corvette (amp) - which everyone hates anyway - very minimal changes at the same time keeping egos adrift from the forge machine that is these forums. That's what has happened in a nutshell over 8 months.

Interesting post Fritzster...
...all I know is that I like the map design and it's great fun to play on...if only someone could fix the spawns and geo-merge...but then again, that's way easier said than done...
this map is old and was made way before geoing was even thought of also, there is no reason to geo this map it is not going anywhere, there is already ons and amp this map is just for fun competitive gameplay

Once again you talk out your ass.
Let me refresh your mind a bit k?
I brought you 2 in when i was stump on the middle. Every thing else was done or planed by me.
I drop not because a " Pro " said it suck. I could care less if a " Pro " Likes it or not.
Kc and a few other stated after they booted you was this " Kc why don't you tell him his map sucks "
I was upset on how things went and never told you do to it would not help the matters anyway.
Your not understanding my point.
The point is that i grab some ideas off someone and tried to make it work with what i was trying to do. But you know me the Drama King if i take ideas from others and give them credit then its wrong and i get my in box flamed on here and XbL. But yet people can take my idea's then try to say my other maps our out dated and proclaim there self the " NEXT FORGE GODS " Who is the one full of there self's?
Not me....

I personally am interested in this feud between you guys, but I can surely say that the average forge map enthusiast or mlg fan in general cares much more about how the maps play, not the history of the second box on the left corner of the blue side.
On that note, this map plays amazingly well, and hopefully can be taken back in for refinement despite the stubbornness or it's roots.

This kind of stuff is getting pretty ridiculous.
Newsflash to the entire MLG Forge Forum:
You did NOT invent geo-merging.
You did NOT invent the two-base map.
Fritz Salot and Zak: You guys made two base maps. There is nothing distinguishing about them except that they happened to get picked up and used on the circuit. Literally nobody cares where the roots of the maps came from, because at the end of the day you get credit for the final version. Even crying about stealing block off walls is pretty stupid. These are maps. Just because Bungie made it annoyingly difficult to get things in to place doesn't mean that each iteration of a map is unique property. The only thing you get a claim on is the intellectual property - the design of your map. Whether or not you built it from something is
IRRELEVANT.
It's a map - you play on it. If you took the wall and then designed a better level around it, then you deserve praise. Everybody gets so defensive about taking parts of maps because it takes a while to geo-merge. The fact of the matter is that this is life. If you are the first person that needs the back bases walled off, or walls pushed in to red doors, then you have to bite the bullet and do it, and not get butthurt if somebody else needs the same thing down the road.
Small trivia fact? The first map that had a geo-merge that was posted on the MLG Forums was:
Narcosis. Made completely by me.
I figured out geo-merges myself, used them, and got on forge hub to discover the method had been outlined there the very same day. But neither I nor the gentlemen at forgehub bothered correcting people on this forum when they started proclaiming that they invented geos and revolutionized the world with them, because it's a stupid argument. We're not distributing prizes here, it's all about the final product. The question is what, not how.
I love the enthusiasm in this community for map-making, but I get so sick of the BS.

Also Thanks SaLot for mentioning Rellik hes a good friend of mine. And you ought to INV me to some games we haven't done MLG MM in forever.

Like usual stop milking the bowlchit nasty - over damn forge and map innovation within forge - this is today not 8 months ago, where you would have made a decently valid overly-written point.

I think all the really good people at Forge should stop complaining about who made a map first and who used someone else's sections- It's a map designed for a video game for Christ's sake. We should actually be happy that some one uses another part of a map, whether they say they did or not, because we all know how bad Halo 3's maps are and 80-90% of the time, the Forge maps are better than the standard ones.
I say, all the Forge people should get together and make the best Asymmetrical map ever...

To all the ppl bickering about forge look at the above post lol. What it's telling you is no one cares.
What people care about is results. Like Onslaught and Amp being on the circuit. If you want to make a name for yourself, then get stuff on the circuit.
Anyways as a forger, I appreciate what you guys are doing and think you (Fritz, Salot) should both continue doing what you're doing. I'll admit that yes I do actually like playing on Ons and yes it is one of my favs now - which is kind of funny since I said so many bad things about it earlier on :) I still have no clue how to play on Amp, but Fritz backpacks us when we play on it so whatever.
Personally I'm not working on anything until I find out what's going on with the coming map editor.

you guys are all great forgers but the idea from Onslaught isn't original, along with any other 2 based map. I feel like the whole thing is based off of midship. So you never know SaLoT, maybe you were just the first to make a two based map on foundry, but not the first to come up with the idea. Im not arguing with youim just making an opinionated statement.

Don't get me wrong, I do like Ons (not so much Amp), but I find that this map plays better than both of them. It's also bigger than both of them and I don't feel as crowded and am not being shot by all 4 people as often.
Forget all the feud that's going on...****, just get another forger in there like Baron and have him fix up the map and do wonders with it. IMO, this map fills in the missing pieces that are left out in Ons and Amp (which is ironic since it's supposed to be the other way around).
It would be nice to see what could be done with this map 7.5 months later...

I have one idea: EVERYONE NEEDS TO SHUT THE **** UP.
It's so annoying lurking the forge forum looking for some good maps to DL and I see some **** like "LOLZ IM SALOT AND FRITZER IS DIX" or "SALOT R DIXZ LOLOLOLOL - FRITZER" now I realize this is a exaggeration and I respect the hell out of all of the forgers here, and most of these posts have some intelligent thought out discussions in them but in the end *****ing is *****ing.
I remember a time where I would come here and I would see a Triumph post, and a Lockdown post, Baron with some great new map, Salot working on some super secret project, Fritzer improving Amplified, other forgers creating maps that would baffle the eye with logs of 100's of hours, Lion's Cage followed by Lioness' Cage.
Now I see that except someone took a giant dump on it and the safe haven known as "Halo 3 Forge Forum" has turned into hell.
" WUT IZ THIZ A NEW MAPZ BY (Insert name here)? OMG HE R BE STELIN MAI CORNER WALZ. HAXR I R SUE NOW"
Really I think the problem with all human society is we can't deal with positive change. If someone takes your pile of **** and turns into gold I don't think you would get pissed and jealous that they took your thing and made it into something better or something different and I sure as hell don't think you would say "**** off this is my gold"
So basically the moral of this post is don't do drugs.

I never get mad about people using my stuff or idea's. It's when they proclaim it there idea and start complaing when i use someone wall. So yes i will rebuttal back to the people that do this.
If you pay attetion you will see i only say things when people start there crap first. Even when maps get put out alot like my maps i never say anything until someone sits there and flames my indox and then post in threads about how i make maps outdated.
