I am Sorry I do not have pictures, my computer is to slow where i am at to upload them and put them onto the site. Sorry. :(

Hey guys. So about 3 days ago my friend showed me something he was working on. It was an MLG version of Rats Nest. So i decided to make my own. I think it will run pretty well, i think it is a far stretch to get into MLG. Please, download it and check it out. I also made a flag version for this. Thanks!

Also, I will be putting in my MLG Iso I made. (Orignal idea for Iso was from ssshakedown)

Rules for MLG Nest
-Do not go outside the map in anyway, it is illeagal to do so for MLG rules.
-Do not throw the ball anywhere that cannot be retrieved.
-Do not throw the flag anywhere that cannot be retrieved.

I thought up a pretty awesome version of Rat's Nest, but it requires a complicated bit of geoing. I want to see if you were thinking along the same lines as me.

I think rat's nest would be a good flag map if you cut off all access to the outer area.

Will download and see how it is in a bit.

If rats nest was created right it would easily fit in the mlg in my oppinion

Curently working on an amazing version of Rat's nest that will be set up for all gametypes but will primarily based on flag. What design are you working with??

Also whoever else said they had a design for Rat's Nest, send me a message and we can talk.

im trying it out right now, but the first thing i noticed is that you can throw the flag outside of the boundaries in the back of the flag spawns.

I agree with you...

But at the same time I feel like the MLG seriously needs to change things up during the season. I've said this before...

I'm not saying go all crazy and make a million changes... but I TOTALLY think it would be great to see just ONE single DIFFERENT game type/map at each event...

Something that just mixes things up a little bit here and there instead of the same game types and maps over and over and over and over and over...

Rats Nest IS HUGE... but it you can get across the map really quick... and Rats Nest does have a great layout for MLG play.

Maybe a KOTH would be fresh and leave the mongoose in play to help get to different areas quickly... just throwing some ideas out...

I think it's cool that you're helping out the community with Forge... cause Forge is such a pain in the butt! :)

By walling of bits of Rat's nest (mainly the area behind bases and cliff where vehicles abound in MM), you can create a map that's functional for competitive play. I'm going to try when I get my 360 back.

ya know, i really doubt that mlg will even consider using rat's nest.

7 new maps, supposedely coming out next week, and maybe a full blown map editor. possibilties are endless.


edit: oh and i think that the ball spawn should be moved imo. its too close to the wall, kind of an awkward spot.
other than that its great

Im currently working on another version with improved spawns and people have been telling me to move the ball spawn. Thanks for the advice. :)

I'm curious as to your layout on Iso. What did you do with the weapon spawns and objective (Hill and Flag) spawns?

I put Rockets near on top of the original Sniper spawn. The sniper spawns on top of the Silver base on top of the hill. This way you must get Sniper to cover the guy getting Rockets. The Flag spawns At the back of each base ramp leading out the back. The hill Moves from the top silver structure down to original sniper spawn, and then back up top, then to the bottom where the original rockets spawn. Does that sum it up?

I like the idea of rockets where they are, how many spare clips does it have? The only problem I can see with your layout would be having a sniper spawning at the most dominant area of the map. Have you tested it yet? What'd you think of Flag?

Mine's alot cleaner and provides more flow, and again i'm not trying to be a ****, i'm speaking my opinion.

The sniper being right there is alright. What your trying to say is like me saying to remove the Sniper off of Snipe 3 on Guardian. I see where your coming from, but the sniper works perfectly there. Also, it has two spare clips, and im about to only make it one.
Flag ran pretty well on the map, where the flag spawns it gives the runner a lot of different areas to take the flag, instead of in the base.

The Nest is a good map although i hope you fixed the emergency base spawns, or added the back tunnel you talked about. Also ever thought of portals? maybe one way from base to out in main OS hall?

Guardian is a asymertical map. That being said you should use a symmetrical map for reference to iso. In a sym map, the sniper should defitely not be in a dominat postion from the start unless it was set not to spawn at start My suggestion would to put sniper bottom mid or add 2 snipers and put one at each side of the bases leading to brown side.

True, it was a bad reference. I will worry about my Iso map more once im for sure done working on my Nest map. A lot of people say they like it, and i just keep making everything better on it. I really wish all the people who viewed this thread, would of at least downloaded it.

Wow? Lets go see you try with the way i have the map now. I have been spending about an hour a day trying to figure out how to make the map so it wont be messed up. Go try it, lets see what you can do buddy. Do not change the map in anyway, just try to make it possible NOT to get out. Also, its MLG rules you cannot do any of those things you quoted. :D
