This is a new 2 base I recently designed and I would like some feedback on it. I will most likely be the one forging it. I know... another 2 base... groan. I tried to make this 2 base different from all other 2 bases made so far. Please tell me feedback, good or bad. Here are the pictures:

Yes this is completely taken from Ciabatta's budget calculations for Enigma, just with numbers changed to match this map.

Uhhhh, those wall geos on the last pic are literally impossible. Once you get more than half a wall into something, it immediately sinks down.

Other than that, looks pretty good. I'm especially fond of the geometry at bottom gold, looks sweet.

I always geo by save-quitting, so objects sinking into the ground isnt a problem

I like everything about A side, the bases look pretty good but they could be a tad bit more creative, and B side looks more like "L00k at M4h S3xY Ge0s" rather than something that would play well.

So I would say elaborate on the bases, and redo B side.

Main reason bases are so non creative is item limits. I will work on them and update post with screenshots when done.

This is how this will end up being like Defiled. You worry too much about the side and just mkae them look cool meanwhile your bases which are suppose to be the safest points on the map are just kind of there to take up space so yeah, my idea is to try and design a new base changing the sides bases and fixing the oevrall bases

Two Things...

One: I didnt design Defiled so you saying that I worry too much about the side is completely invalid.

Two: Tell me what is so insanely wrong with the bases. When giving feedback, you should really tell the person how to fix what you dont like instead of just saying "change this".

Also... if it makes you happy, I can just do the stardard old Onslaught base. It seems to be the best all around base.

Um alright don;t get pissed just saying. This could be fixed by putting mroe thought into the bases before you just go all out on the sides. Your sides actually look like they have some random stuff just to make it look cool. Asthetics aren'y everything gameplay means much more...

How come Zonked always comments on new sketch-ups saying something should be changed, but never says why, how, or give any constructive criticism at all? :roll:

Anyways, I think it looks great. I don't mind 2-base maps, but the Onslaught clones with two high side-towers and a lower middle are really boring. This is a good example of a nice 2-base map. Good luck. I'm on your friend's list, so invite me when you need testing. :D

Bases are good, but could possibly still be improved. TBH I have absolutely no idea how though, I may start trying to make sketchups of just really cool bases because it seems like only nexn (with axis and the one cool unamed base in the sketchup thread) has really been able to think up something unique.

How 'bout i actually leave feedback and i told him he needs something more for the bases. Just like Defiled they're kind of there to take up space and to fill the area. He needs to work more on the bases and worry less about the side bases otherwise gameplay will be kinda funky and most likely play like ****.
Do you comprehend what i am saying?

Honestly, I would make the bases more unique but unlike Zonked, I feel that the side bases are just as important as the main bases and this has made me not have sufficient resources or space to go all out on the main bases.

OT: Looks good, midmap is kinda open but whatever. Bases look good, amazingly unnessecary geos on B side but if you want to drive yourself insane, more power to you. B side kinda reminds me of the garage tower on the non-MLG version of Amplified. Thanks for giving credit for the stolen budget :P

Alright.
Bases:
1) You have high platforms that are at an unjumpable height, do the corner(Teeth) or something somewhere in the base that will act as not only cover put also a way to get up there.
2)I can't reall tell from pictures but the single boxes on the side of the double boxes look like they make funky(bad in a way) lines of sight. Kind of a corner looking line.
3)I like the fact that it's open and you'll be able to have nice BR battles but it looks a bit too open. From corner to corner you can see straight across with teh exception when your against the back wall dead in the corner you have the small obstruction of the corner walls.

B-Side:
1)To be hoenst a first look it looks like cutting the B-Side corners would actually flow better because of the angle you have B-Side. I don't know how much material you need and i am really to lazy to check at the bottom so yeah. It would save you a box or two and create a nice nade point and add flow.
2)The corner wall in the front. don't get me wrong looks cool and all but it actually like won't work in forge how you have it. The overlapping pieces that extend to the middle will eat nades and wont really work. Looks like you can fix this by pulling the corner walls inward (Towards B-Side) until the corners line up.
3)This is just a small suggestion but if you have enough materials you may want to geo a double wall or wall or anything you have under the B-Side bridges so people can't go under them. IMO would look a hell of a lot nicer which i can tell you like if you block it off.

A-Side:
1)I like the slight elevation change a lot. It gives it defifnitely a carbine side feel.
2) The bottom is SO open. I have no suggestions except add a small back way or tunnel out of there and something to black that LOS. Otherwise i would not want to spawn there...

Overall:
I like where this is go except for the few minor things around the map that could be changed or fixed. If you need help sorting out budget for some of these changes or additions ill take a look. Happy?

P.S.- I would tell you to talk to NeXn if you didnt like rockets. I didn't design it.
