To people that have gotten lessons when they were already decent. Did lessons help you? I really don't see how lessons help for example if i got a br lesson from roy for an hour, an hour or a few hours isn't going to really teach you how to get a good solid br.

I really don't see a 1 hour lesson being very helpful at all.

Not at all. Lessons are really just a scam for pros to get more money from people. The lessons also probably don't help.

If you really want to learn some stuff, go to an event.
You'll learn more at an event then by buying lessons.
I personally learned a lot at my first event.

Never heard of anyone actually taking lessons. Just watch your own gameplay footage and watch POV's. Compare them, see what you did wrong. Play every day you can. Don't get rusty.

Lessons are actually very helpful ! Obviously, most of us know how to BR and aim properly. However, there is more to halo than simply moving around and shooting your enemy. As a matter of fact, you should know how to control spawns with your grenades, predict where the opponent will be according to your spawn, know where to go to make your teammates spawn at the right places in important situations and much more...
Pro lessons will simply give you the extra skills that will make you succeed !
Just think about it...they are pro for a reason, they probably know a little bit more than you ! =)

they might help, i mean if you don't have a steady br as of now and your into mlg, then you shouldn't be playing halo 3 competitively i think, i mean its not that hard to br. I think the lessons will just teach you how to play smarter, where you should be at certain moments accordingly to your teamates positions, yadda yadda yadda. Different routes and simple stuff like that.

Lesson IMO are just a scam. Pros are smart; they know with their status they are gonna get attention from MLG gamers. As a gamer, you want the lesson and you pay for it. Pros will explain to you what you already know. Lessons from PROS is like you paying for a Tsquared PROtip Video. You think they helped you since you did pay the money, but really your just the same person who got the privilege to play with a PRO. They can't teach you how to be them, only you can teach yourself how to be better then them. It's just a scam for you to play with them.

Another RIDICULOUS thing pros do is CHARGE to be on their friends list. crazy!! I mean I understand they get F/R all the time but damn 50 bucks for a friend request.

They only charge money for FRs because people will pay them. You probably would too if you there was enough demand. It's not like they have to go far out of their way to add a kid for a month.
As far as lessons are concerned, I bet they would help if you did one of those team lessons, where your entire team scrims their entire team and they tell you what you are doing wrong and how to do something better, but even this won't help that much in a short hour long lesson. If you and your team want to improve, you have to get good enough by yourself to the point that you can get scrims from good teams. Once you are scrimming good teams, you can start creating your own strategies instead of mimicking pro strats that will be outdated in the next event anyway.

You're wrong there. People can go from a downright terrible BR to top 32 equivalent with a few weeks of heavy practice, just as with the sniper.

True, never been to an event but, thats were to get the training and lessons, just watch and learn from the pros. But I personally find it good to just get a lot of friends on ur FL to help you get better over time.

I will be they guy that is for the lessons. I think it really matter from who it is too. Also, just like any sport, like say basketball. If you can't shoot for crap before you aren't going to be amazing after getting coached.
Honestly, learned a lot from people that beat me. I watched the video after the match. I watch any videos they had in there file share that was long enough to see how they moved. See if they do something I don't that made them beat me.
I watch a Video of a guy giving lessons. I am guessing he just forgot to take it off his FileShare. :) Anyways, I know a lot about halo, but there were 4 things he did just on Guardian that I never even thought of. Very impressive!

Lessons are pointless. You are better off watching them on VOD or at an event.
