Alright guys,
I’ve had a good amount of free time on the seemingly endless amount of flights, hotel stays, etc. this weekend to work on some designs. I made this thread to show you all what I’ve been able to come up with in the past couple of days, and hopefully get some good feedback along the way.

Bliss
I’ll start this thread off with a map that I originally submitted to the sketchup database a week or so ago, and I was able to refine a couple of elements in the design over the weekend. There weren’t too many major changes, but a couple of geometry pieces were added.

Bliss was recently adopted by Phuria a couple of days ago, and here’s a snapshot of his progress.

Heres another sketchup i've been working on for the past several days, and i'm pretty much done now. It is named Bliss, and it's designed for 1v1/2v2, and pulls some inspiration from my last sketchup and the inner room of power station. (For those of you who have played shadowrun, it is merely inspired by it, and in no way intended to resemble it exactly.) This is up for adoption, so post here or let me know through a pm if you wish to forge it.

Some quick notes on the map:


Consists of 4 floors, meaning the forger should ideally geo the whole first set of boxes down
Utilizes 2 lifts (Floors 1 to 3 and floors 2 to 4)
Has a camo and an OS
Design is up for interpretation, but i would love it to stick to the ideals mainly
I didnt calculate budget, but it shouldnt be too big of a problem
I neglected to take the liberty to block off the sides, but the forger will have 8 fence walls, 8 fence boxes, and all of the open boxes (double and single) to work with

MEDLEY

The design for Medley was originally put together in forge before I was able to sketch it up. I made this my first sketchup project for my long weekend, and turned out to be the easiest since I already knew what I wanted from the design.
A couple of scale issues and such cause this sketchup a little bit of trouble, as I used the foundry components to sketch up a map for Avalanche.

You will see the entire design floating, since I wanted to make it blatantly obvious that this structure will be floating off of the boundary of avalanche. Only one wall will need to be blocked, (because otherwise you would essentially be able to jump back within Avalanches normal boundaries) and the player will be able to fall to their death among the remaining boundaries, and a few other places.

This is my current project, and was started just before I left on vacation.
**KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS WILL NOT BE BUILT IN FOUNDRY**

AVALANCHE!!!!!
2 lifts
Lookin at a camo and a 2x custom powerup
Designed for 2v2/1v1
4 floors
Each floor has its own designated colour, made out of the Avalancke double boxes/ramps ( 1st floor = grey, 2nd floor = green, 3rd floor = blue, 4th floor = red)
What power weapons and where they will be placed is still undecided
More cover is present along the 3rd level in the actual forge design, and just not shown in the sketchup

Reconstruct

It doesn’t take a genius to figure out what this map is based on…

I was able to check the forums a couple of times throughout the weekend, and saw that jon wanted a construct successor designed for 2v2. It was a little unclear on exactly what he wanted kept, and what he wanted to be thrown out and redesigned from the original map, so I kinda just went with the flow.

There were a couple of things that I definitely felt that needed to be changed in order to make a 2v2 Construct successor work well, namely:

Reduced LOS along the 2nd floor
A less claustrophobic feel when exiting the purple lifts
No bottom hill area
More access routes to the top floor
Make it functionally symmetrical
Reworked middle rocket platform area
Make lobby more accessible, while it still being a slight power position


I made the design 4 floors, to make it as versatile as possible, having a basement level 1, the main floor level 2, the gold area being level 3, and lobby being the highest point on floor 4. I also kept callout somewhat the same, making all of “open” side as “A” side, and “closed” side as “B” side.

Added Info:

Again, a camo and an OS; OS in sword hall, and camo back gold
4 floors
Added a “closed ramp”
3 lifts
Lifts go as follows: one from 1st to 4th, one from 2nd to 4th, and one from 1st and 2nd to third

Lacuna

This was the last sketchup project that I tackled. It’s a 1v1 that has similar feels to Commune, as it has the high level in addition to the basement below. Lacuna took inspiration from a bunch of different places, and turned into a pretty sweet design.

Info:

This one IS up for adoption (I will post it in the sketchup database shortly)
Has 3 floors
Custom Powerup in the basement
1 lift
Essentially, 6 ways up to the top
The fence walls along the top floor will serve as windows down to the second level (Shield doors added to reduce bad hit detection)
2nd Floor divided into 2 sections
Both sections have 2 routes to the top and 1 route to the basement
Starting points will most likely be in each division of the 2nd floor
Bridge pillar in basement corner

Yea, Lacuna is for sure.
I dont know what jon wants with Reconstruct...
i designed it for him, so who knows, that one may be as well.

As for the other 2, Bliss is already adopted by Phuria, and i am making Medley myself

yup.
i enjoyed myself very much.

This was done on the plethora of plane rides, and late nights at the hotel.
we actually got stuck an entire night in Atlanta due to a cancelled flight as well.

@ Flight: can you link me to some of your work so i can see what you can do?

This is a really cool idea, mind if I do this? I have 3-4 sketchups I was going to make but I have 15 maps to work on :-( I encourage people to do this, then we will have more maps.

As for the sketchups they are good, Avalanche one is awesome and will probably turnout great.

i agree, hopefully more and more people wil be inclined to make more maps/designs/etc.

Nicka, make sure you collaborate on TaK with this, his imput will be very valuable imo.

Otherwise, Reconstruct looks great, scratch that it looks amazing. Just make sure it was designed with 2v2 in mind ;)

Yea, it was designed for 2v2, and im pretty sure it will work well.

I was actually forging medley a bit today with tak in the party, so i hope that counts
