Titanous is a 3 base map that has inspiration from Sanctuary. It is a coforged map between me and BFP Sticky v3. I got the idea to make a 3 base from Baron AJ's map Zenith and forged one since they are relatively unexplored territory. The map consists of 2 symmetrical bases in the back corners and a massive Sanctuary esque 3rd base. This is a beta so the spawns are still iffy but slayer plays fantastic and has been tested extensively. ZoroSeerus will be helping me and Sticky with spawns.
Rocks spawn top mid by the vertical wall. Plasma pistol spawns below yellow. Custom powerup spawns 150 seconds into the game at white base.
Weapons include:
7 BRs
2 carbs
1 PP
1 rockets (0 spare clips, 180 second respawn)
4 frags
2 plasmas
1 custom powerup (150 second respawn, not spawn at start)

Hmmmm a 3-base. Very different, although most 3-bases seem to be symmetrical. I would always have thought a 3-base to be assymetrical, but never mind. I downloaded the map, I understand that it is a beta, and I do like it but I have some things to comment on.
Design - Overall the design is good. 3-base is definately a plus, being something different, and the structures and walkways are all well designed. What I do not like is that the entire map is essentially two levels. You are either on the top level or on the bottom, and there is extremely little in between. All the top levels are the same height (one double box) and some variation in the y-axis is definately needed. You could elevate white base, elevate walkways, lower white base and give it a second level - I don't know. At the moment there is just the two floors and nothing really separating them.
The bases are basic, but are effective. I do like them (talking about Red and Blue here), but there are only two routes up into them, from the window or from gold. There needs to be another way up, either with a ramp or a jump-up. White base is more complicated, but I feel there has been a real focus into it and it shows. There are a lot of escape routes, it is well-covered and well-structured, and like the rest of the map, it is aesthetically pleasing.
Execution - Forging is pretty good here. Noticed a few texture glitches here and a few bumps there, but for a beta, it was pretty good. Like the Custom in the wall, I really need to find out how to do that.
Balance and Weapons - Obviously being symmetrical it is fairly balanced, and with the focus on the white base, whoever controls it wins the game - and I like that. It gives the map something to fight over and not just rushing into the enemy base and try to spawn trap them as much as you can before dying. The weapon set looks balanced as well, rockets only have one clip, but I would spawn the custom at start. It gives the starting rush something to fight for over at the white base and increases the importance of it. Speed up the timers as well to make sure players are continually moving, just take 30 secs off the Custom and the Rockets. The map could also work with a sniper rifle or two due to good lines of sight, but with the custom and rockets there at the moment I wouldn't recommend it.
Spawns - Obviously spawns haven't really been prioritised yet, but I suggest you do and set up several respawn areas with it. There isn't much to comment on being a beta, but don't have your spawns with plenty of room behind them. Place them with the backs to walls. Also, while I'm here, there is a random spawn area in King of the Hill, near rockets.
Overall this map has serious potential. The design is good in 2-d, but some more elevation is needed. The bottom is also fairly exposed and does need more routes. You have some budget left, so just go for it. I feel this map would play extremely well for KOTH, but at the moment there are 3 hills at white base out of 5, so once the first 5 hills are up the hill you go back to white base, essentially meaning 4 minutes of hill in the same place. Obviously work at the spawns, but if you do work at this map considerably I look forward to seeing Titanous in its prime. Good job :D

I played on this during the weekend with you Knossos and it was very sweet.
The forging is really well done and LOS are pretty much spot on. I like combining the camo with the custom to make the white callout aswell.
Two critiscisms I have is that there should be more variations in elevation. Perhaps making White base into something even more critical to map control by heightening it, although I realise you probably don't want it becoming White 'Tower' as such.
Also, there was one minor problem with the callouts. The Custom that you can pick up is in White base while the Custom merged with the wall for callouts is on the opposite side of the map. At times when someone yelled "He's at Custom!", their teammates would check the wrong side.
Obviously this could be countered by simply calling one Custom/Power-up/OV and the other Gold but if other people notice this too it might be worth changing.

The map needs some more testing so if anyone wants to test get online, bomb spawns need some tweaking and i will fix the hill problem. It was late last night when i was making some minor changes and i guess i was too tired to notice the mistakes i made.
Yes purple i have played exodus and i thought the spawns were iffy at first but now theyre pretty solid. I trust zoro can help me after a few tweaks.

I know what your saying bob, the map is basically just 2 different heights but i doubt its fixable since this maps design is basically set in stone. It was designed a certain way so it would play a certain way. I will look into fixing it but im afraid there isnt much i can do atm...

Yeah I understand what you mean with that. It is definately hard to change the the heights of the buildings after you have finished the map, but it is still possible. Maybe lower the red and blue base into the ground a bit, raise the middle walkway and gold and leave the white base as it is. Or lower the white base, keep red and blue as they are and elevate yellow. It can be done, but rather than building up it would probably be easier to go down because of budget.
Speaking of budget, I noticed you had 8 Double Boxes left. Use them up, I think you have enough overall budget to use them all, if not most.
If my review came off a bit negative, I would just like to say that I do like the map. Pretty much every map by a forger who makes some decent contribution to this community knows their stuff and produces great maps. It's just a matter of perfection - and that is terribly hard to do. I do like the 3-base idea you have going as well, and hopefully we could see some on Sandbox.
Has anyone thought about a triangular shaped arena? It would be different, but it hasn't really be tried before. With sky bubble I'm sure we could make it :)

I could toy around with those ideas, i think lowering the bases by 2 flat walls worth and elevating while by a couple flat walls worth could do the tirck. The double boxes could be used for the purpose of elevating white base.
Thanks a bunch for the cc, its much appreciated. I am currently sketching up a 3 base for sandbox that has a ton of height variations and will be a spiritual succesor to this map. I have also been thinking of making a triangle shaped arena but i dont know if ill go anywhere with the idea, currently i would rather do a 2v2 assym than any symmetrical or crazy new map style.
