Okay, there seems to be a popular thread which provides information, supposedly, on how to improve your slaying ability by using a seemingly godly ability of acting in the present without use of any prediction. I have to disagree and the following is why.
While predictions can be wrong, through practice and experience, your accuracy will increase. You also have to predict where they are going to be, you can't just know and act. It has to do with your own reaction time.
If you want to test your reaction time go here: Reaction Time Test (http://www.bbc.co.uk/science/humanbody/sleep/sheep/reaction_version5.swf)
You will find that the time it takes from what you see, to when you can act is probably around 0.2 - 0.3 seconds, with more exceptional times being lower near 0.1 - 0.15 (I'd guess most pro's should be in that range, especially ones with great slaying ability). I believe Halo 3 runs at 30 fps, which means it updates every 0.0333 seconds. This is much faster than your reaction time, so things can happen far more quickly than you can take into account at every given moment. This is why you have to use prediction and can't rely solely on reaction and pure coordination.
Feel free to post your results from the reaction test. They display a weird descriptive name, and an average numerical time. The numerical time is more accurate and informative. You can post either.
