I spelled the name wrong in the topic its actually Turbulence >.<
A truly symmetrical and balanced map designed for all MLG gametypes.
Multiple entry and exit points out of each base and mini-"base" area.
Map Detail
2 bases
2 mini-"bases"
5 levels(if you count top snipe)
Weapons
8 Frag Grenades
6 Plasmas Grenades
5 Battle Rifles
2 Carbines
1 Mauler
1 Rocket Launcher
1 Sniper
Ive played a few matches on here so far and it plays smooth on slayer, plays great for ball, havnt tested CTF or king yet.

Editing:
1.Removed the middle Tube from each base tunnel and replaced with single floor and cieling to provide fire to Mauler area.
2.Moved Mauler spawn off the ledge and removed the small corner from the map it spawned on. It was getting blown off the map by grenades and rockets during team king far more than it was getting picked up.

I actually played a map last night with the exact same name as this, even the 'a' in place of the 'e'.
The middle of this map actually looks slightly alike to the other one, but the rest is different.
Anyway your map looks pretty sweet but the abundance of man-cannons could be a cause for concern.

Ah if theres another turbulence ill have to rename it possibly.
The cannons only serve one purpose and thats to lift to snipe from the bases, they leave you in the air for quite some time so youre fairly vulnerable. They usually arent used much because of this, so they arent much of a problem, theyre just used as an alternate route to snipe rather than going top or bottom mid.

Oh I know that there is an important purpose to them but they can be rather inconsistent. When you playtest it (I'm not sure if you already have) you might find people falling off the map due to them, or using them to get to places the shouldn't be.

Looks great :D I like the "multiple ways out of each base". Thats something that a LOT of H3 maps lack. DLing now.

Ahhh true true, ill keep an eye open for that, i was having problems with people falling off at first so i had to reposition differently

I gave it a download and I have to say I was a little disappointed. The overall design is good, but the bases have too many dead ends. I was really hoping that the ramps in the bases would lead to a lower level that actually had a way out, same goes for the little dip down side areas in front of the bases. I feel like this map is a good start but needs more paths in order to flow nicely.
On another note, how can you say oddball plays well on this map? It's a sky bubble map, no objective games work in the sky bubble. When the objective is tossed off the map it doesn't instantly reset. It falls down to the middle level and sits idle for however long the reset timer calls for. I don't think I have to explain why this problem makes almost all objective games unplayable in the sky bubble.

I forgot oddball was the only objective game in MLG.

Yea im going to be cleaning up the map and making a version 2 soon and make it easier to excape the bases. And for ball yea we found we had to shorten the respawn time to make it work. they need to fix skybubble so the objects that fall off the map reset after they pass the death barrier

The map looks interesting but there are some huge design problems
Redbase
-The ramp leading up to the base is to small, a player cannot strafe on this part of the map and can easily fall off. As a primary acsess root to the base, this creates a real problem and distrupt sthe flow on your map.
Man cannons are a no, they can be manipulated to easy, and end up shooting someone in any direction.
Sniper Tower
-The 2 sides ramps leading up to it are dead zones, They do not lead anyware. Yes i do see you can jump off them, but jumping should never be the primary way to get somewhere from a point. This messes up the flow in your map.
Middle
-bottom mid is open to the point of no return. Rockets should be in a open and enclosed area of the map. Your rockets are so open that it would take 3 bodies just to get them away from a death trap. This will the middle of your map into a cluster F*** off death when rockets spawn.
Side opposite of sniper
-this side is to open and in a really bad place. Its low so its the most vonerable point of th emap, which means it needs sufficeint cover from the higher sides. Theres cover, but its only cover from people who are on the same level as one another can use. No one would ever want to go to this side becuse of that.
Your map has good demension and i give you credit for that, but so many other problems that ruin the map.

*sigh* I thought I wouldn't have to explain it, evidently I do. No Oddball is not the only MLG objective game, there is also King and Flag. I understand King can still be played in the sky bubble, but when I said "objective gametypes" I was referering to the ones that feature a physical objective. Flag is also unplayable in the sky bubble if the settings are "flag at home to score". If time is running out, a team can just continually pull your flag and toss it off the map, giving you no opportunity to score.

Thx for all the great feedback, im redesigning the bases a tad and moving some weapon spawns around and probably redoing most of the sniper tower( it was my least proud part of the map anyway ) Im probably going to totally get rid of the access points from base to snipe and make it only accessible through bottom and top mid, to make the fight for it much more appealling and yes all the man cannon asside from bottom mid to top are out as of now
Im also working on merging the whole map so there are no dead areas for nades.
Unless they fix skybubble for physical objects falling all the way to the floor, oddball has to be played with a quicker reset timer, which i understand hurts some strategic plays of droppin the ball to provide assisting fire for your teammates, so untill then ball is probably a no.
When I play flag on it, its such a large scale map i use Pit 3 flag settings, so that rids the flag at home rule and only hurts yourself if you purposely do it
Keep checking the forums for a v2 with in the next few days =)
I'm going to run games on this tomorrow... the only thing that worries me is that I see 3 power weapons and the map looks fairly small from the screenshots.

You need to understand sandbox to understand what hes talking about tho.
Any flag would work just fine but on sandbox there is no return barrier once it leaves the map like narrows or guardian. So the flag has to fall all the way to the mid level of sandbox and stop moving before the reset timer starts, which ruins any flag/ball game with out a very quick reset time that and dropping strats for MLG

On Narrows you can still throw the flag onto the ring below, and it functions the same. Taking about 15 seconds to reset. So It's entirely plausible to play flag on a sandbox map.
On that note, Nasty suggested a fix to the oddball problem that I personally favor. Making playing ball a reward. That way, the longer respawn time would be worth the risk. Just make sure the areas to play ball are carefully placed and have large risk.
