View Full Version : Default Item Dissapearing Glitch Fix

Basically this will help people with the OLN, because people said that the default items glitched and were unusable. You simply have to wait out the time you set them not to spawn. After that you can then use them freely. My cap card is at my other house so I can't cap it yet. D/L the video and you can see what I mean so that you can use the default items on canvases. Keep in mind you WILL have to do this everytime you use the default items. Make sure that if the item disappears, to force spawn it, and it will be fine.
Start new round with the item(s) set not to spawn at a low time (ex 10, 20, 30) or you will have to wait longer to use the item.
Then wait and move the item until it is where you want, and make sure that you set it to "yes" to respawn or you will have to wait even longer.
I think the real best way to work around this glitch is to build your map like normal without using the default items, then as soon as you hit OLN/Budget or your map is complete, go through and replace parts on your map with default items.(Walls for walls, ramps for ramps, etc.) Then you won't have to worry about this issue untill the very end and you can controll it better.

Yea, I found this out by messing with a stacked crypt canvas, and then Baron's sky one.

Thanks, but this is kind of old. No big deal though, I'm sure some still haven't heard about it. The first time I started forging on Sandbox I noticed this, so I'm actually surprised that so few people know how to use the default items.

This glitch is really a pain in my ass. Not only do we have budget, OLN and walls going crooked, but now this stupid glitch with default items. I was unaware why it did this the first time I seen it. I even restarted some previous forging(atleast 2 hours worth) because I thought something was really jacked up.
What Zoro has posted is completely accurate as me and a few others were there to watch his theory on it last night.
I think the real best way to work around this glitch is to build your map like normal without using the default items, then as soon as you hit OLN/Budget or your map is complete, go through and replace parts on your map with default items.(Walls for walls, ramps for ramps, etc.) Then you won't have to worry about this issue untill the very end and you can controll it better.

This is useful but I thought that you can delete all of the scenery (not spawn points, objective markers etc) and respawn it, and you will hit the budget limit before the OLN?

It all depends on what kind of objects youre using on your map. If youre primarily making it bare bones with just "big" ($5) objects then you can hit the budget before you hit the oln. If you intend on using other objects under $5 then you might have some trouble. Me and goat have recently hit the item limit on out latest map but we primarily used "big" objects. We hit budget and were able to spawn about another 10-15 items.
Oh and just a suggestion, keep the weapons from the canvas. Itll help you out a lot with the oln, you can get about another 15-20 items for your map this way.

Thanks man, I did need that clearing up.
My canvas has everything default saved. It.s nice to know that I can delete/respawn the default scenery to avoid the dissapearing item fiasco.

Be sure to lower all the runtime max numbers on the weapons, that will gain you some extra cash. And yes, you don't have to use the default scenery, but be very careful when co-forging over XBL. There's a lovely little glitch that will delete all of the objectives items including starting spawns and respawn areas, so double-check frequently so you don't get screwed. It's also worth noting that to save on the OLN, you don't have to place eight starting points, even though it's been past practice with MLG maps. As long as a starting spawn is near a group of spawn points, the rest of your team will spawn around it.

im having the opposite problem:
i can select default objects and move them around, but when i set them not to spawn on start they become unselectable for 30 seconds until they would have spawned in anyway. the object never dissapears, so i cant interlock anything with it. the runtime minimum is set to 0 so that isnt keeping it from dissapearing.
wtf?
anyone with similar problems, or a fix?

I described that that DOES happen to me, you have to wait out the time. This is a fix for how to do just that, because sometimes you can't move them or such.

my objects are all usable, i can select and move any and all objects, i just cant set default objects not to spawn on start. when i do and start a new round, nothing changes. there still sitting there(only unselectable for 30 seconds, which isnt the problem- i can wait).
for example, if i want to interlock a default box with a default box, i cant, since i cant make either default box dissapear. i have to geomerge them together. which is ridiculous. boxes i spawn in will disappear when i set them not to spawn on start and start a new round, just not default ones.

selecting "do not spawn at start" does not work.
You can't, so you have to be smart on how to use them.
