View Full Version : Something I don't understand about budget...

Hello. I recently decided I'd like to get into forging and try to make some good MLG maps. I've read all the stickies and looked at several tutorial videos and such, but I am confused a bit about the budget. I've read that default items don't benefit you if you delete them, so it's in your best interest to use them. So before I got started, I downloaded this map which has all the default items from sandbox in the crypt;

However, I noticed my budget was under $600 to start the game with, so I deleted a few items and my budget increased. I deleted them all and my budget went up to the default $1500. This contradicts what I've read about default items not benefiting you if they are deleted. Can someone clear this up for me? Thanks.

The default objects on the map don't count towards the OLN (Object Liimit Number). However ,they do count towards the monetary budget. Most people hit the OLN before they hit the MB, so if you want to get the most out of the map, set those objects aside and delete them when you are sure you don't need them.

Unless you do the budget glitch, every object on the map will count towards the MB (including default objects). The glitch is not legal for use in MM or MLG, so I would try to avoid using it at all costs.

I don't even know what the glitch is, and since it's illegal in MLG I will avoid even finding out. Is there anyway to see the OLN to know how close you are to going over?

There is no way to track it in game. I used to know the exact number and I think it's 640 including default objects but I'm not sure on that at all.

EDIT: I don't know how to do the glitch and I'm gonna try to keep it that way. I've done it accidentally a few times, but that's it.
