INSERTION - Foundation Reimagined

Originally "Excavation" by OctoDeath, a remake of Foundation from Halo 2. Sandbox 2 is its base map.

OctoDeath tried for a faithful remake of Foundation and did an excellent job. The original and this one are almost indistiguishable. Of course, he added a few new elements, the Regen and the Bubble Shield, but otherwise it's quite faithful.

I always felt that Foundation, while a fun map, was somewhat broken. I'm sure those who are more interested in balanced gameplay than I am could even further make changes to this map (and you're welcome to), but I made some distinct changes already:

- The "hiding rooms" at each corner of the map have been replaced with a shallow alcove, each of which holds only two frag grenades.

- Rockets are no longer on either side of the map, but one set of rockets has replaced the sword in the center. I always felt there were too many power weapons on this map.

- I'm sure the MLG folks will hate this, and I don't mind you finding your own fix for this, but I replaced the original rocket spawns with Power Drainers. You're welcome to replace all "items" with weapons, however.

- NO MORE TURRETS. They've been replaced with two plasma grenades.

- I just realized the fusion coils are still there, but oh well. You can change that if you like.

The gigantic caves into which players originally spawned are now shallow grenade alcoves. They can delay death, but not for long (or Ever completely).

First thing, you should interlock every surface players will walk over and throw nades at. The reason being because it can be bumpy or you could lose nades through the cracks, after all the whole point of interlocking is to reduce these problems in the first place.

Having two shot guns on a map like this wouldn't be a smart idea because people could camp at rocket spawn waiting for it to re spawn or they could be hiding around the corners of the map. If another team were to have a set up on the corner of the map it would be nearly impossible for the other team to break it because even if someone killed off the whole team there would still be someone with an over powered shot gun ready to clean it up. Any close range weapons on this map is totaly absolete. The rockets spawn every minnute which is just way to much and again rockets would be insanely over powered on this map, just get rid of it. This map is more of an arena style map like Archtype and Vengence. I recommend that you get rid of all the power weapons and add a camo in the middle, leaving the rest with just Br's and Nades.

One more important note i'll leave is that you should make the middle structure more open. If you leave it as -closed off as it is now, people will just camp behind the walls waiting for people to run by and will ultimately just lead to a huge Nade spam fest, and a cluster of Mele fu** over the Power Up/ Power Weapon.

Recomendations:
- Add Camo in middle (60 seconds for fastest gameplay)
- Interlock all surfaces and Nade points
- Set Br respawn times to 10 seconds (default MLG settings)
- Make outer walls one box hight higher
- Remove Fusion Coils
- Make middle more open (remove the single walls)
- Remove spawn points in the middle of the map
- Replace Grav Lifts with jump ups (more consistent)
- Remove all Power Weapons

Most people hate it when you use another persions map, so I'd watch it unless you got his permission.

Excavation is awesome and I'm not sure that you should have ****ed with the dudes map.

Yeah I definitely discovered that today. I got served on this forum, yelled at on ForgeHub, and banned at Bungie.

Very cool and interesting map, it looks like a great map, and something different.
