Yes, I know the name of my map is original. I'll try to come up with something a little more spicy, but for the meantime, here's my first Sandbox map:

Weapons on map:
BRs
Carbines
Plasmas
Frags
Mauler

Everything is set to MLG specs...at least I think I did it correctly.

I think this map could use some work on the spawns, I'm not the best forger, so any help would be greatly appreciated. I wouldn't mind going into the map together with people to get it polished.

Feedback is welcomed. If you play it, don't expect perfection, it's a work in progress.

Cheers.

Haven't seen you in a while. Anyways, I downloaded and this is what I think.

Forging is pretty good, considering you aren't going to be doing crazy merges and all that. It is pretty clean, no real bumps I can find. Interlocking isn't necessary, but it will stop any grenades being lost. The same goes for geomerging into the Crypts walls. You don't need to, but it will just stop little things like that. If you just practice a bit and get the hang of it, you should definately try it but if you aren't confident with it at the moment, don't bother. Also just a little preference of mine, but the lighting effects are extremely strong. You only need one orb, and you should probably float it around 4 boxes high so will still get the red/blue effect, but it isn't glaring in your face.

Now it's the design I don't really like. Nothing really seems to flow together. You have the two bases, the two side towers, and some structures in the middle - but nothing really flows. They are all isolated from each other at the moment. Another thing is that I feel claustrophobic when I walk in some areas - especially down low. You should try to give some more space when walking, but still not make it so LOS is abundant. It is kind of hard to explain and detail how to fix, but the problem is there. It also means that the Mauler is going to be extremely overpowered, and camping will be a problem.

Spawns are pretty good, except I think it is only set up for Slayer at the moment (correct me if I'm wrong, it wasn't set up for CTF when I looked). For slayer, just place a spawn area over the whole of the map (not going above the Crypt surface) just to make sure everyone spawns inside. You never know where Bungie might want to spawn someone, and there are problems of people spawning outside of the map in some cases. As for spawns, make sure there isn't anything directly in front of them, or if they walk forward a little bit they won't crash into anything. The direction that the spawn faces is just as important as the placement. For advanced spawn placement, search Ender's 8 Spawn Area Guide, or something along the lines of that.

Summing up, it is pretty good for someone who isn't the greatest forger. I would suggest just looking at Cryptoline, since that is the best Crypt/2-base out right now, that does almost everything right and uses a lot of good angles (something I didn't mention above). Anyways good luck with the map and any future maps, and I hope that you stick around the Forge Forum :)
