MLG Highground v5

Made by Cydronix, iDoTcOm, and Why Not 117

Ok, I know many probably won't like this idea, but I made a pretty good v1 of Highground designed for MLG a while back, I am now just finished v5, the layout is simple.

Weapons:

Sniper Rifle x2
Rockets x1
Mauler x1
Plasma Pistol x1
Battle Rifle x 13
Carbine x 5

+ x1 Custom Powerup

There is no need for pictures, just to show different weapon placement, the blocked off pipe and some extra jumps added in, so just download the map and tell me what you think.

The Map is designed strictly for MLG Team Slayer and Capture the Flag.

The Capture the flag settings are normal except the return time is 10 seconds, so you will need a player standing next to it for 10 seconds.

The gametype works really good because you will need alot of teamwork to recover the flag.

It's nice to see you took the time to edit High Ground for MLG, but unfortunately there are some problems with the map itself that you just can't fix.

One of the facets of MLG is fast-paced gameplay. Frankly, this map is just too large to have anything but sluggish 4v4 games. On top of that, 90% of the map takes place on water, dirt, and grass, all of which eat grenades (nades don't bounce off them); this makes it extremely difficult to throw proper nades (then again, Iso was in the v3 settings, so anything could happen).

The only way High Ground could work at all is if you could find a way to block off all but the base. Due to the horrible forge pallet for this map, it's extremely unlikely anything like this could be created.

Maybe KC will think otherwise, but I don't see this even getting playtested by the forgers here. Sorry... hope your team does well!

i hav tried to make a MLG version for high ground but it didnt turn out the best so ill see how this one is

You've only been here since January and you're already a red bar. Maybe you should start riding some *****...

By the way, most of the people in the Forge Forum have very limited space for Custom Content, so pictures help people not waste their time.

Anyways, I don't think this thread needs it as much as others, because it is only weapon placement. However, you probably will need some screenshots to avoid the wrath of Zanno.

High Ground will never make MLG.

It already did...:D It just got removed later...

Well, that's unfair to say because it was in v1. v1 had so many problems with it, it was only created as an official gametype so people could get out there and run customs. MLG One Flag was an actual gametype, and the two maps it was played on were High Ground and Last Resort, both of which were removed from v1 before v2 even came out (think Stock in v4 and Blackout in v5).

So, yes, High Ground was in MLG before, but so was the Grav Hammer...

I think simply the uneven terrain of the map makes highground an unlikely choice for an MLG map. If I was to pick any map outside of the ones already in use, I'd probably pick Isolation. Isolation MLG hill beta was pretty fun.

You put a lot of effort into the map though - it looks nice.
