Lately I've been busy making my first forged map.. I made it on Sandbox skybuble and I think It's pretty fun for MLG CTF. It's a symmetrical map with 2 bases, 2 sniper towers, 1 OS and rockets.
If your interested in playing the map and willing to give me some useful feedback it will be apreciated8)
Here (http://www.bungie.net/Online/Halo3UserContentDetails.aspx?h3fileid=75446706) is the map
And Here (http://www.bungie.net/Online/Halo3UserContentDetails.aspx?h3fileid=75446655) is the CTF game type.
Let me know!:-D
PS: I will be making some screens in a bit..

Looks interesting, and BIG. Looks way to big for 4s. It looks like something for BTB. Also the horseshoe design hasn't really ever worked in the past (except for in H1). Just by looking at the pictures I'd say there needs to be more ways to get across the map, because, by the looks of it, if one team secures the middle, they basically win...
Thats what I got from looking at the pics. I'll DL and then form a better opinion :D

Spawns on a 'horseshoe' map do not work out that great. I made one and you could literally predict where they would spawn every time. As the poster above me said, try making it so you can get to the other side some other way, think of something, I don't know, like Pit? Also, the floor looks pretty bumpy from the pics.

you can literally predict where they are going to spawn every time on onslaught this doesnt make it a bad map :) i like the fact its a rather unique design man keep up the map making its nice to see some new unique designs coming out of the community

Sidewinder from Halo 1 was a horseshoe and it was an epic masterpiece (imo of course). I would suggest you try to get some influences from that :)
try making some shortcuts through the center of the horseshoe like it was on Sidewinder... that might be interesting if you have enough room. But if you do the shortcuts, try not to make it just lame straight tunnels like on Avalanche... on Sidewinder they actually had a great design that helped the gameplay flow. Also on Sidewinder it had teleporters connecting the cliffs, which provided another way to escape one side of the "horseshoe". Just try and come up with something creative :)
The design can work, it just needs more depth.

Okay. I was away from my box for a few days, but I just walked around it, and aside from the bumps here and there, here are some things I noticed.
1. I spawned out of the map having to commit suicide to spawn in it.
2. I could grenade jump onto tho outer edge of the map. (screenshot below) (I understand you could just say "illegal move" too, to save budget)
3. The blocks in front of rockets are not aligned evenly with the rocket building. (I'm just being picky here. screen also below)
4. While I know the rockets provide for a means of not camping, I personally feel like the map has too many power weapons -> 2 snipes, rockets, OS. It is not that big. Again, just my opinion.
Overall, I actually like the map. I could see myself playing 4s on it and enjoying it.

^^ Nade jump at the red spawn.

^^ Rocket spawn. I personally think those blocks should form a pathway to the rocket ramp, or have 3 rows and have the middle one completely align with the rocket ramp.

^^ I really like the view from the area of the sniper spawns. It seems from the screen that its a spawn trap waiting to happen, but you could go under rockets through the tunnel and flank easily.

It doesn't, but it would improve the map if you couldn't get the other team in a 'spawn trap.'

Yeah, you should definitely add some sort of short cut, although that could make it fairly easy to cap a flag.

A shortcut as in one thats not a straight tunnel. On Sidewinder you had to go up a large tunnel a ways to get the the short straight one up top, so it took some time. The only super-quick route to cap a flag on that map was throwing it through those bars, and that took some coordination and was easy to stop if the other team was there.
As I said earlier, be creative :) I'm sure you'll come up with something.

Great structure, but far too open for an MLG map.

A path from one end of the horseshoe to the other would give teams more options off spawn. It doesn't have to be a straight path (think Sidewinder or Danger Canyon from Halo PC).
Nevertheless you'd be better off if you scrapped the horseshoe shape. Your current base design is simplistic and uninteresting. They're functionally flat, and there's only one entrance into and out of the base. Take a look at CTF maps that were successful in the past. Beaver Creek, Sanctuary, and Midship all had bases that could be entered from all sides.
If you take the materials that are currently used in your bases and dragged the bases closer to the middle of the map, you could build a far less exaggerated horseshoe with complex, multi-leveled bases and really improve your map. As of right now, the central area is far more interesting than either of the bases.

The map looks like a great map. I just downloaded it and I'll run some games tonight on it and give feed back on the map then. But I like the screen shots.
