In - Depth Look at Runes of Magic (RoM)

Runes of Magic

This game is a Free to play MMORPG. This game was released on March 19th, 2009, and the expansion on september 15th 2009. This game is available for free download, and has no monthly fees. Before i go on, if you are interested in a new game and/or want to see whats good before you D/L I HIGHLY Suggest reading this. I will give Facts about the game, and my opinions on certain things. +Rep me and post if you liked this read.

Creating a Character - When you first log in, you are prompted to create a character. You can choose from 1 of 8 different classes. Warrior, Scout, Rogue, Mage, Priest, Knight, Warden, and Druid. Of course each of these classes has its different perks and abilities. There is also 2 races you may choose from. Human or Elf. Now im sure most of you are like "Wow, only 2 races?" But it really isnt that bad. After you create a character, you can log in to the game and begin your adventure in the land of Taborea!

Dungeons - RoM has 3 different forms of dungeons. They have what you call Large Open world PvP, Small instances for 6 players, and Larger Raids/Instances for 36 players. I have recently started playing and can say that the PvP is very balanced, and entertaining.

Getting Farther into the Game - After you start the game, and get around level 10 you can start having a great time. At level 10, characters are able to choose a secondary character class to increase there abilities as a player. Core abilities from the secondary class are usable when the player remains in their primary class and vice versa, for instance a warrior with a mage secondary class is able to cast attack magic while still equipped with warriors' more effective armor. Also, players can have more than one crafting skill, such as Woodcutting, Mining, etc. Practicing these is key to getting more gold on this game.

Other cool features - This game has a cool feature that is known as a "Housing Feature". Each character's home functions as a meeting place where other players can be invited. Additionally it serves as a visual demonstration of their progress within the game since it increases in size as character levels are gained. The graphics on this game also are very similiar to WoW's. This game has up to 2,000 quests players may complete, and over 2 million people registered.

I was a fluent wow player and loved it, however as i paid $15 dollars every month, it got a little tiring. So me and my roomie have gone on a quest to find a great MMORPG that is free, and like WoW in some aspects. We found "RoM" and love this game to death. I suggest this game to any MMORPG fan that is looking for something to play. There is much much more to the game, however i can only explain half of what this game has in store for you. If you want to play PM me, and we can get a guild going. HAVE FUN!
