first
nice pics and vids. Good way to start, though I'm not a fan of sniping from the team's sword ramp. Rather go to their top snipe

It may be easier to snipe from there but its really not a good idea to have the other team spawning near mauler. Good for your kills but bad for the team |

I'm sure FB is real happy that everyone knows their opening strat. Now many are gonna start using this and they'll have to change things up

Actually, where you are does influence where the enemy spawns, it's just that where they've died recently is more important. Bungie said the importance of where you are is 4/5's as important as where an enemy has just died.
And I'm sure FB won't mind people seeing how they start out. I suspect every team looking to place top 8 will have gone through lots of VoD to see how each team plays, and that's going to be very important for a game that's only one event old. Scrimming will, of course, allow different set ups to be shown too. The perfect example was that Classic already obviously knew what FB did, and so FB mixed it up a little in the finals. I doubt we're going to see teams employ the same start over and over. It's more likely that we'll have variations, and that a lot of mind games will be involved to start out a match, with teams gambling on what the other team will do. You saw that with Classic all rushing OS in one of their games with FB on the Pit, which admittedly didn't work out, but was an interesting idea. You'll still have someone go for the sniper every game, and you'll still have central battles over power weapons, but it won't play out exactly the same every time, and people will mix things up, just as they do after any spawn. |
