Know Your Hill Spawns. In all MLG King of the Hill games, the hills change in a sequential order every two minutes. Any serious player will take the time to memorize the order of these spawns and it’s essential that a team is aware of when a hill will be moving. It doesn’t hurt to remind teammates of an upcoming hill move and where it will go next. Remember to duck. While Legit doesn’t have many opportunities to use the duck and run, it’s a basic technique that can mean the difference between life and death. At 14:09 he looks down out of instinct, even though he might not have needed to. In general, if you need to get away, it’s wise to look at the ground to show the enemy less of your head. Play the Objective. At two spots (13:55 and 12:20) early in this lopsided game, Legit chooses to let an opponent duck away in favor of racking up some additional hill time. Similar to oddball, over time a wise player learns when to leave a damaged enemy alone and instead garner some points. In a similar vein, know when to take a death. At the 10:00 mark Legit lobs two grenades into the top of the gold lift and proceeds to plunge towards the hill, damaging two players before dying. His teammates finish them off and take control of the hill. In this situation, taking the death was worth it. |
