Halo 3 Open Winners Bracket Round 5 Update

PSF has managed to fight successfully through the Open Bracket, and will now look to pull off some upsets in the Championship Bracket. Gandhi and the rest of his team were paired with Zone 6 in the final Winners Bracket Round of the Open Bracket. Both teams put in a solid performance, timing the powerups and power weapons almost perfectly, but in the end, it was PSF that walked away with a 2-0 win.
Active Rush knocked off the 2nd seeded Adversity team in their WB5 match 2-0. Both games were extremely close, with the Team Slayer match being won by 4 kills, and the KotH game by 16 seconds.
Shamocracy, a team made up of Halo 2 Professionals Xtremist, Bonfire, Game, and Sir Samurai, has been eliminated from the tournament in Losers Bracket Round 7. Breaking The Curse came out on fire, and managed to take the first game 50-49. The second game was King of the Hill on Construct, and the match was full of excitement. As time ticked down to the final minute, Shamocracy was at 249 seconds. Just as they were about to get the final point, the hill moved, resulting in a mad dash. With both teams hurling themselves toward the hill, Shamocracy was able to sneak in and grab that last point, netting them the victory 250-242. After two close games, we were knotted up at 1-1. A crowd quickly gathered to watch the third and final match of the series, Guardian Team Slayer. Shamocracy jumped out to an early lead of 7-0, but was unable to hold it. As the game winded down, Breaking The Curse held a 2 kill lead. With about 30 seconds left, the camo spawned, and a BTC member was able to grab it unnoticed. He snuck top middle, and managed to assassinate two players, just as they killed two of his teammates, allowing them to maintain their lead as the game ended, 48-46. After an excellent series, both teams showed true sportsmanship and shook hands.
Breaking The Curse, as well as the teams who lost in WB5, will now move into LB 8. A win in this round will mean a birth into the MLG Championship Bracket.
