The Gears of War Open Bracket has finally been completed. Four teams from the Winners Bracket and four teams from the Losers Bracket have advanced on to tomorrow's Championship Bracket.

Already on a roll from their previous series, TLR had not faced an enemy like Dignitas thus far in the Open Bracket. The experienced UK team Dignitas had not lost a round in the tournament yet, and they were not intent on giving up on that streak. Heading into TLR's strongest map Mansion, they quickly took 2 blistering rounds from Dignitas. Stepping it up a bit, Dignitas was able to pick up a quick round on TLR before yet again falling to TLR's blitzkrieg rush. Map two brought us to Clocktower, one of the more balanced maps between the two teams. After an intense firefight at the top, Dignitas was able to position a player at the flank, stealthily taking out two members before TLR had a chance to turn. Finishing off from the front, Dignitas powered through the first map to make it a 1-0 game. Heading back to the top for round 2, TLR and Dignitas traded kills through some unique angling, eventually bringing it down to a 2 vs. 1 situation in favor of TLR. ClouD and Trigga mike worked in a tandem to corner UK player Dominate. Misreading Dominate, ClouD seperated himself just long enough to be killed by Dominate's shotgun, putting Trigga mike and Dominate into a 1 vs. 1 situation. Holding off Dominate and the clock for the rest of the round, a draw is the result. Heading into a 1-1 score, TLR decides to push Dignitas at the top of sniper, hoping for a kill or two. Unfortunately for them, Dignitas is able to angle themselves well enough to deflect any fire and effectively counter the rush. With a 2-1 score, TLR once again attempts their blitzkrieg rush yet again, and Dignitas once again counters the rush and takes the map 3-1.

At a 1-1 map series, Dignitas can sense the win. Fuel Depot would finish off the map series as Dignitas quickly goes for a rather risky endeavor. Pushing directly into the center of the hangar, TLR is caught at the entrance, trying to fight off the rush. Dignitas tops TLR and takes a 1-0 lead on Fuel Depot. Taking a different approach this round, Dignitas decides to pick up their grenades as well as their sniper rifle and allow TLR to enter the front of the hangar. Grabbing boomshot and looking for a way out, TLR is gunned down one by one at the main entrance of the hangar as Dignitas takes another round. Having a 2-0 score on this map, Dignitas goes all out and rushes for boomshot. Grabbing boomshot and pushing out of the front entrance of hangar, TLR is forced into the corner of helipad by the sheer force of Dignitas' lancers and boomshot, meeting their demise to a well placed boom.

Dignitas sees themselves well seeded in the Championship Bracket tomorrow, being the first European team to become semi-professional in Gears of War on the MLG Pro Circuit.

Much like Dignitas, both Retaliation and Hazard found themselves easily moving on to the Championship Bracket, following their wins in round 4 of the Winners Bracket. Right behind them, Stability was able to sweep the Riot Boyz to move onto the prestigious Championship Bracket.

Picking things up after a loss against Stability, the Riot Boyz were in the drivers seat for the Losers Bracket final match. After dropping their first map against Envious, Riot Boyz came back to dominate Envious on War Machine and move onto the final map of the series. Having only a couple of rounds to work with, Riot Boyz gave themselves a hole to dig out of. Dropping the first round, Riot Boyz brought their game together to win two straight. Losing the fourth, it all came down to the fifth and final round. With a 2-2 score, Riot Boyz were able to overpower Envious adn bring them into a 2 vs. 1 situation. Quickly picking up boomshot and sniper rifle, Riot Boyz had it in the bag as they chased the final member down. One boomshot and a smack later, the Riot Boyz found themselves in the Championship Bracket.

Following their loss against Dignitas, TLR found themselves fighting for survival. Meeting up with Twisted for a spot in the Championship Bracket, TLR would have to change their fast paced rush attacks against another formidable opponent. Taking the first round on Gridlock, TLR found themselves fighting off a barrage of attacks by Twisted. Losing a round, TLR brought themselves in a 1-1 map score with no chance to mess up. Following two draws, TLR stepped it up to bring themselves back into the lead with some well placed lancer shots on retreating enemies. Heading into the final round of Gridlock play, TLR found themselves playing cat and mouse in a 2 vs. 1 situation. With the advantage, Trigga mike and Drastiq found themselves funneling Sneak into his own spawn. Placing one boomshot at Sneak's feet, Drastiq is able to take the map for TLR. Going into War Machine, TLR and Twisted were both looking for the "W." Trading rounds back and forth with some careful play, it came down to a 2-2 map score and TLR with the weapons advantage. One by one Blaze and ClouD found themselves cutting Twisted down to size, finishing off with a kill by ClouD and an ticket into the Championship Bracket for TLR.

In another well played game, vVv Destiny was able to overcome a heavy loss against Hazard in round 4 of the Winners Bracket. Knocked into the Losers Bracket, vVv Destiny was able to get themselves back on track just in time to destroy Tragedy in a 2-0 map series. vVv Destiny had been able to advance through the entire Open Bracket with only three original players, as their fourth had not been able to enter Canada due to issues. Looking into the Championship Bracket, many are wondering whether or not vVv will propel themselves to the top.

As if action couldn't have been any more hectic, the Championship Bracket will kick off with the best Gears of War teams competing for that number one position tomorrow morning.
