As soon as competition began, upsets were in the making. Featuring the top 16 Rainbow Six Vegas 2 teams fighting for the glory of the Championship, some are bound to win while others will fail.

Action tonight started off with MoB RAGE easily cruising through 16th seeded Always on Top 3-0. Staying alongside RAGE was LoSt CauSe with a 3-0 win of their own against FRAG Aptitude. With both teams having very low seeds, this much was to be expected.

Breaking the mold, fifth seeded EFX uNReaL found themselves in a bind early on in the event. Quickly losing two maps to 12th seeded Essence, uNReaL were on the verge of elimination from the Winners Bracket almost immediately. Coming back with two maps of their own, they tied the series at 2-2 apiece. Heading into the fifth map, not even Game Over was able to help his team advance to round 2 of the Winners Bracket. Before we knew it, Essence was celebrating an upset win as uNReaL was preparing to fight in the Losers Bracket very early on.

Advancing by forfeit, 10th seeded TDF Vendetta was able to move on due to a no-show by 7th seed monSTARZ. Very unfortunate for monSTARZ as this will knock them out of their more favorable bracket position.

Keeping up with the competition, New Era was able to use JwHoJcAsH to dominate PriDe in a 3-1 final score. Looking very strong with the 6th seed, New Era is surely a favorite to win Toronto as they have the experience to dominate nearly any team in the tournament.

Instill Fear easily took care of 13th seeded Straight to the Bank in four maps, giving them a match-up against lower seeded Essence in the second round of Winners Bracket competition.

To justify voluntary LANslaughter's low seeding out of the Open Bracket, they defeated 8th seeded aNoMaLy in a very close match-up. Taking the series 3-2 in the final rounds, voluntary LANslaughter will see themselves facing a very powerful MoB RAGE in Winners Bracket Round 2.

Finishing up Round 1 of Winners Bracket competition tonight was vVv ReWriTTeN in another close game, this time against FYC. Playing fiercely right out of the Open Bracket, FYC put up a great fight as they tried to knock 2nd seed vVv ReWriTTeN into the Losers Bracket against the likes uNReaL.
