Fight to live another day! The main slayer’s job is to kill, a lot. They are charged with controlling one or more of the power weapons and look to the objective last. By trying for kills first and foremost, the main slayer makes the rest of his team’s job a lot easier.
If you think you’re cut out to be the team's killer, make sure you have these traits:
* An excellent Battle Rifle. You must be a beast with your starting weapon. A consistent BR four-shot is a must and your BR should be mastered from all distances. Main slayers have to control power weapons but they get them by using their BR.
* A master of the power weapons. Can you snipe with the best of them? Do you use rockets effectively every time you have them, not giving them up to the other team with nearly full ammo? A main slayer must be able to get the power weapons and use them. If you sit around delicately lining up your sniper shots, you need to practice. A main slayer should have strong intuitions about where enemies are located and put damaging shots on them early and often.
* Confidence. The main slayer must have the confidence to win a firefight with anyone. While your support should help keep the enemy off while you’re sniping, a great main slayer can step up and swing with anyone on the opposing team. You’re looking to put up big numbers each and every game and you cannot be intimidated.
* Intangibles. A great main slayer will pull off exciting plays in the clutch. A crazy no scope, an overkill or whatever it may be, the main slayer has an instinctive knack for killing.
If you post big numbers and think you can hold up your numbers against increasingly difficult opponents, being the main slayer may be for you. Remember that opposing teams will be gunning for you, but if you play your position well, much glory awaits you.
