Carbine Basics:
* 18 rounds in a clip
* In MLG Settings: six shots kill, the last requiring a head shot (when shields are down)
* Faster firing rate than BR = faster kill if all shots are landed
* Harder to maintain aim than BR
Many of the same tips that apply to the Battle Rifle are the same for the Carbine. Go to the Battle Rifle article here. Remember to strafe, lead your shot and make sure that once the enemy’s shields are down you land a head shot to finish. From close range it’s harder to miss with the Carbine and should make it slightly superior to the BR.
MLG settings place several Carbines throughout the map and it’s always a good idea to pick one up to have as a secondary or even primary weapon. While a mauler, sniper or rocket is the preferred secondary weapon, it’s always a good idea to carry something to give one some extra shots. The carbine provides use in many situations, some that make it preferable to the Battle Rifle.

While harder to aim than a Battle Rifle, the Carbine’s fast-firing rate rewards a good shot with a faster frag.
