The Beam Rifle is a semi-automatic, single-wielded weapon with scope capable of 5x and 10x magnification. The Beam Rifle is capable of killing an enemy in one headshot or two body shots (as the first shot takes down their shields).
In these respects, it is the equivalent of the human Sniper Rifle, however it is also capable of firing two shots in rapid succession, allowing much quicker kills without headshots. If the Beam Rifle is fired in this manner, more energy will be subtracted from its battery than two separate shots would have used. It will also overheat and need to cool down for several seconds before it can be used again.
A disadvantage of the Beam Rifle to the Sniper Rifle is the bright purple beam it creates when shot. This beam is much easier to see than the human Sniper Rifle's contrails and allows observant players to determine from where they are being fired upon, yet the beam disapears faster than the human sniper trail.
